I am expecting in 3 weeks and tried calling the Chicago store I purchased +2500 of furniture from. After getting a ring and no answer or machine I started to look on the internet only to find out from this blog that the store had closed. Now have to find out if can even get our over 50% deposit back and try and find new furniture when 37 weeks pregnant. I talked to the Scarsdale store who said they'd honor the prices we were given; however would have to pay extra shipping and at this point since we do not know
if we'll ever see our deposit money again, wouldn't even think of spending more money at another Bellini store. I know several people who bought from this store in past year or two and they all had issues with their deliveries and the customer service, but stupidly still went with them. Completely regret our choice as will make the last few weeks of pregnancy stressful trying to find new furniture and how to cope with the financial loss.

Pros:
Beautiful products
Cons:
It's like buying a crib from a stranger on the street
|
|
I ordered a crib a few months ago, they told me it would take six weeks. Well, 10 weeks went by and no crib. I called the owner of the store, and he would avoid my calls, not return calls, etc. I then started calling other stores to find out what was going on and it turns out that he went out of business and took my $1000 with him!Anyway, the purpose of this review is to warn people what kind of company this is. It is a franchise. Therefore, it is just you against the person who owns the store. There is no accountability with this company. You might as well just buy a crib from a stranger on the street. They may look like they are a big corporation where you could actually call some kind of corporate office from the look of their website (which is well-done), but they are not. They are only as honest as the person who owns the store is. In this situation, there was literally no one to call. This guy's distributor took pity on me and told me what to do and explained how the store was set up. I then called my credit card company and thankfully got the charges reversed.Make sure you do a full investigation into the particular store that you are going to buy the crib from. Investigate Better Business Bureau profiles, ask around town, ask to speak directly to the owner of the store when you place your order. Ask them how long they have been in business. If he or she seems unsteady or a snake and you get a bad feeling, don't do it. Get a firm delivery date printed on top of your order. Don't let them charge the full amount on your credit card when you place the order. Bargain for as little as possible for the first initial charge. If your furniture does not come in as scheduled, assume the worst and start the wheels in motion immediately.Their furniture is beautiful, but I just wanted to warn everyone. It is like just picking a random stranger on the street and giving him thousands of dollars and hoping he brings you a crib in the meantime. Definitely use your credit card and don't give any cash!!!!

We purchased all of our nursery furniture at the Bellini store in Tampa, FL and had a wonderful experience. Great customer service, quality furniture, great selection of accessories/bedding - Well worth every penny! We bought the Bella crib, dresser, slide top changer, cradle, chair & ottoman - everything was delivered & set up within five weeks. We also purchased most of our bedding and accessories from that store as well. I would highly recommend this store!

Pros:
Sturdy, beautiful, solid wood construction.
Cons:
Replacement parts expensive
|
|
We are very impressed with the solid construction on our Bellini furniture. We bought the Annie style sleigh crib and a dresser with a change top. The furniture is solid wood - probably better quality than the rest of the furniture in my house. It comes at a price - the crib was about $770 and the dresser plus changetop another $700. However, I am confident that this furniture will last! I love the crib. It has drop sides, wheels, and a spacious drawer underneath. Bellini included the mattress, which is also high quality. I can't remember the name, but it was one of the highest rated ones available. The dresser has three large drawers. Even the drawer pulls are solid wood. The best thing Bellini offers though is the change top. It sits on top of the dresser and is price (by itself it costs about $260) but it is worth every penny. It is very spacious and the baby can fit with the legs facing you. No sideways changes here. There is room to sit the baby up, let her stand, keep a toy. Really, I can't say enough good things about the change top.The only thing I don't like is the price of replacement parts. We moved and the movers lost our bolts. Well, the bolts cost $50 to replace and it took about 2 weeks to get them. I thought the price was outrageous! The movers also knicked the edge of the change top (they didn't pad it all for the truck ride across country) - it cost $75 to replace the board and we are still waiting for it.
