Well she was growing out of the 0-3 carters sleepers and now shortly after moving to 3-6 sleepers, they seem almost as tight. Admittedly I didn't wash them in cold or on a low dryer setting, but shouldn't there actually be more of a difference in their sizes? Should I try the 6-12 months?

I think it depends on what Carters line you are using. Nathan still fits in some of the 0-3 months. Several 3-6 months he's outgrown and he fits in some 6-9 month. Seems to me that Carter varies greatly on the line.

Tammy-
The all cotton ones are pretty similar in size (IMHO), but the terry cloth ones (with the collars) run bigger.
I went to BRU yesterday to look for 6-9m ones for Sophie (she's wearing all 0-3 with the exception of one 3-6m that fits EXACTLY the same). All the patterns were the same as her 0-3 ones, so I decided to hold off.
Need some variety to spice up her jammy collection! :)
I would bring home a 6-9 and see how you like it before buying a bunch.
For what it's worth, the Lullaby Club stuff at Target runs REALLY big. I have a 3-6m one that's gianormous.

I'm always amazed at how different each piece of clothing is of the Carter's stuff when they are supposedly the same size. I have a supposed "0-3 month" Carters sleeper that DD still doesn't fit into! Meanwhile she's busting out of everything else that size!
Apparently Carters licenses its name out to a bunch of different manufacturers. Therefore even though it's all under one brand name, the clothes vary a lot in size depending on who actually makes the line.
(Edited because I am having a pathetic typing day!)

Logan is 10#10oz now, and the 0-3 is getting too tight- mostly in length, so we just moved into the 3-6 and feel the Carter's brand sleepers will give him a few months growth room. I admit I do love the terry sleepers better, and they are cut more generous and plus terry has stretch.

Tammy,
I just noticed the SAME thing last night after I washed a bunch of onesies in the 0-3 and 3-6 size. They seemed almost identical! I think that their 3-6 rompers (the nicer knit, designs with the animals or whatever) are much larger than their 3-6 all-cotton onsies/t-shirts, as someone else said. I bought what I washed at BRU, so I thought it would be their "best" grade, whatever that means. I feel like I have a full drawer of stuff that I won't need in two months!!
