I've never seen anyone post anything about Talbots Kids so I'd thought I'd share. I went to Talbots Kids today for the very first time. There is only one in a local mall and the other one in the area is a shopping center that I hardly go to. Anyway, I must say that I was impressed with the clothing there. It's very classy, not a lot of pastels or brightly colored clothes. My girlfriend who was shopping with me said that their clothing washes very well, and its the only clothing that fits her big baby well.
The most impressive thing is that as long as you keep the receipt you can return their clothes at any time for any reason. I got some clothes for Martie for next winter if they don't fit I'll just return them.

We have a talbots outlet near us and I have gotten Bella and myself some great deals there.
I love the quality of their clothes and they tend to wear well. At the outlet they let you return without a receipt for store credit as long as the tags are still on.

We love Talbot's--for the whole fam! I've returned stuff there that was over a year old because I never wore it. And I second your friend in that they are very roomy and run big. Every year since she was born, Kathleen's Christmas dress has been from Talbot's; and this year Nana bought them matching Christmas dresses from there. Yayyyyy Nana!! :)
My guess on why you don't hear too much talk about them here is because they can be pricy! BUT, when they have a sale, they have a SALE! None of this marking things down 20%. They go right to 45-50% off and keep slashing until the stuff is gone. I hit their end-of-season sales religiously--both for the girls and myself.

We really like Talbots too. But you do have to hit the sale. Their full price stuff is CRAZY.
I can, however, see getting stuff for Sophie there when she's older - especially for special occasions.
I like that their stuff is very classic, not skimpy and well made. Definitely not little ho-wear!

I saw the cutest little red romper from Talbots at Once Upon a Child and it looked brand new - for $10. I love going to second hand stores just to see what brands hold up and what doesn't!

Based on this thread I went and looked at Talbot's web site. The kids outlet is an extra 25% off (you have to click on the item to see the fully reduced price) and although there isn't a lot of selection if you're looking for something dressy they have some nice stuff.
Also, they have some nice velour dresses in BRIGHT solids that look just as nice as the Hanna ones only these are $12.75.

I just picked these dresses up in red for Liza and Kasey for Christmas for next year!!! They were originally $44 - at $12.75 a piece, you can't beat it!!! I figure if I pair the dresses with some patterned Hanna tights next year, they will look adorable! They do have some fantastic sales.

You are too funny! I will definitely keep my eye out for future sales. The stuff for little girls was great too. It was funny b/c I was walking by Limited Too and commented that I'm going to be a mean mom b/c I won't let my daughter dress in a skimpy off the shoulder top!

I really like Talbots Kids too. Their stuff is made well and is stylish but not too hip. The adult and kids stuff wears really well. I would not recommend their pants/shorts for really thin babies, though. The waists are very generous. DS couldn't keep his shorts up. LOL
Also, you can take things back at any time, even without a receipt for store credit, although you may wind up with only the sale price if you wait too long. Also, if you are not satisfied with a product, even after it's been washed, worn or whatever, you can take it back. My only bad quality experience was with one of my favorite outfits for DS - khaki overalls lines with red plaid flannel (with a matching shirt). The flannel lining bled onto the khaki after washing. Obviously the tags were removed because the item had been washed. The store took the overalls back with no problem, apologized and said that the item did not meet Talbots quality standards.
You get exceptional customer service with Talbots generally and definitely hit the sales. Just a tip on the sales, though, you should really try to go the first day if at all possible, because the clothing moves quickly. If there's something you really have your eye on, go right away.

I had a whole bunch of Talbots Kids stuff for DS last summer, gifts from my aunt who works at Talbots corporate headquarters. I really like all the items, especially the shortalls for summer were very cute and fit well. Their pants do seem to run big - I have posted a couple times that they would be good for short, wide babies. We have two pairs of 12 month pants that are still wide on DS in the waist/butt even though he is wearing 18 month in everything else. So I'm not sure their pants will ever work for us as he will outgrow the 12 month pants in length soon. I hope my aunt sends more stuff this summer - can't really afford to buy their clothes myself!
