I've been reading (and posting just a little bit) on this board for oh, about 2 months now and I am addicted. I LOVE baby clothes and it seems like this is a good group to be a part of for the bargains and alerts to what's hot and new.
My name is Kerry, and I am a SAHM to 2 little boys, Huey (Hugh) and Quinn (Quinlan). They are 3.5 and 1.5. I am also due with our first little girl in mid-June. Probably the most interesting fact about us is that we JUST moved to Germany...5 days ago. That's right, I'm in the midst of the most crazy move ever and here I am checking out the layette board at baby bargains.com. We have quite alot to do to get settled in, but I had some time to kill. Nice to meet everyone.

Thanks for posting. We always have room for another shopper! It sounds as though you'll fit right in.
Good luck with the move.

Kerry-- Welcome! Where are you living in Germany? I've visited there several times and I just love it! I wish I was planning another trip soon, but it will probably be a few years.

We are in Stuttgart, Germany. It's so beautiful here. My husband is in the army and we just moved from North Carolina. I used to be in the army and spent 6 months in Heidelberg back in 1998 and loved it then too. I was single then and didn't pay attention to the very cool baby clothes and shops when I was here. Now I can't wait to get out on the town and check out the European fashions for little ones. Of course I'm going to miss my fave stores from back home, especially gymboree (now that I get to dress a little girl up), but thank goodness for the internet and you gals. You guys are so in the know with the sales and upcoming products that I shoulnd't have much of a problem getting what I need online. We checked out the infant's and toddlers section in the PX yesterday and it was pitiful...so it's online or Euro boutique shopping for me. :) Nice to meet you all.

Wilkommen in Deutchland! Hope the move went smoothly! Hats off to you for doing that with 2 boys and one on the way. I thought we were crazy for tackling it with a baby, a dog and a cat. You are in another league entirely.
We've been here in Berlin for the past 19 months now and are really enjoying it. As to baby stores and baby brands, let me know if you want any tips. While I don't know Stuttgart, there are a number of chains. Also, if you're into it, check out the second-hand stores. Berlin is teeming with them and many specilize in only like-new quality of top brands ("marken"). They're also always in the market for American stuff as well.
Enjoy and have fun!

Hi Kerry,
Nice to meet you! We are also a military family (Navy) living overseas (Japan). Good luck getting settled...hopefully, you have a great sponsor. I love this board...I always get great advice and as you have already discovered shopping on base is not the same as shopping back at home. One piece of advice regarding internet shopping...check out www.aafes.com site to see which stores offer military discounts and free shipping to military boxes (look at the section titled centric mall). Look forward to hearing more about your experiences in Germany!
