Sun Protective Clothing

I've looked at several websites and can't find what I want - Does it exist? I need to find a shirt for DD to wear when she plays outside at daycare that will cover her arms. She keeps getting a rash on her arms. I'm not entirely sure that it's the sunblock b/c it goes on her face as well and there is no reaction on her face. Just her arms. They did say at daycare that she was scratching at her arms. Maybe she gets hot and her arms itch? I don't know.

Is there something similar that has actual UV protection? They make button down shirts for adults, but nothing similar for toddlers. Something that can easily be put on and taken off when she's inside.

Or, does anyone have suggestions for really lightweight long-sleeved tops? At least I can still just put on the sunblock and use the shirt to protect her from scratching herself like crazy!

I looked around a bit and these were the 2 I found that sold actual shirts and not swim shirts.

Hi Esther,

You might consider RIT Sun Guard. It's a laundry additive that increases the sun protection of regular clothing. I have not used this yet, but I plan to for DD's summer clothes. Their site says it's not recommended for children under 2, but I contacted them and the rep said that's just a precaution because babies are more likely to have a skin reaction to any detergent or additive.
