My local shoe store has uggs for $29.99 and I really want to get my DS a pair for winter. I've never bought him shoes before, but it's always cold in our house and it's getting to be winter here in New England so he needs something-plus they are sooo darn cute! Am I wasting my money for a crawler? Will they just come off or get dirty/worn from crawling. He's only 6 months so he's been doing the army crawl where he drags his body instead of lifting his stomach up for over a month now!

We didn't have Uggs when DD was crawling but our Robeez did ok. They ended up pretty scuffed and worn around the toe area from all that crawling. The Uggs look so toasty- I would get them! We're in Maine so I know you need warm stuff :)

We had Uggs last year (and this year!) when DS was about 8 months, and commando crawling. He didn't regularly wear them in the house, but did occassionally, and I didn't notice any problem w/them getting dirty or worn.
My mom did let him suck on his toe once and that left a water mark. I was afraid to wash them, so just lived w/the tiny spot. This year, DH spilled glass cleaner on them almost immediately, so I had to wash them. I used the Ugg cleaner sold separately, and it worked GREAT! I was so afraid they wouldn't be soft after washing, but that cleaner made them look and feel like new!
I say "go for it". I bet you'll end up wanting a pair for yourself! ;-)
