View Full Version : Does anyone have experience with this Stride Rite shoe?

I am looking for spring shoes for my youngest DD and saw these on Shoebuy.
http://www.shoebuy.com/sb/s.jsp?&Brand=Stride+Rite&Profile=2&Color=1572&Price=3500-6500&Req=prof&Nar=-1484622332&Page=3&Style=178781&Substyle=402823

They look like a cross between sandals and more of an athletic shoe. Currently the only shoes she will wear are these from Target and I am getting so sick of looking at them!!
http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_2/602-9053294-6144606?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B000B5RET4

I though with the Stride Rite ones maybe she could wear them with socks if need be on a few cooler Spring days and then as her main sandals come summer. Her feet don't grow too fast so I am sure we could use them all summer. She is 2 1/2 and wearing a 5 1/2 in the Target shoes but I think they run big so I would get her a 6 1/2 in the Stride Rites.

My other choice are these:

But they really do seem more athletic looking and I am not sure how they would look without socks?

Thanks for helping!

I *JUST* bought those first ones on Friday! We love them. Dd wore them all day Saturday. They're nice and flexible, too. Much nicer than the Target ones you linked.

I love the last link of yours but I didn't try them on Dd (she was shoe-shopping burnt out!). She has a really high-instep and even Stride Rite Extra Wides do not usuall fit in the MaryJane or T-strap style. The first sandals you linked do, though! I don't think they would look any worse without socks than other maryjanes, it's just a taste issue. I personally dont' care for the look of MJs or sneakers w/out socks, only sandals. Then again many would cringe at MY children wearing socks WITH their sandals, so to each his own. BTW, Dd did wear the first ones with socks since they're new and it wasn't that hot, but the plan is for them to be her sandals for the first part of summer (or until she outgrows them).

You just missed the buy one get one half off sale! Sign up on their mailing list for next time.

Thanks, I went ahead and bought them. I got my older DD a new pair of Keds (see my other post!) and with the $20 off coupon and using the 10% discount it came out to $45 for both pairs! Not too bad! I will let you know how we like them.

Those shoes are really cute. We were at SR this weekend and they hardly had anything in my dd's size, probably b/c it was the end of the big sale. I hope your dd likes her new shoes!

I just got Emma the last ones you listed, but in this color. They are so stinkin' cute! I would definitely not wear them barefoot though. The first ones you list are really cute (and very flexible) too - we tried them on in another color. And those you could do without a sock. But I went with a sandal instead.

Here's what we got:
