Ameda Purely Yours or Medela PIS?

Can anyone recommend one of these over the other?

They are pretty comparable, in that they do the same job about equally well. Have you searched the archives for all the reviews (there are a lot of them) on these pumps?

People seem generally evenly split between the two. It may depends on how and where you plan to use it. I went with the Purely Yours b/c it weighs only 2 lbs versus the 7lbs PIS. My friend has the PIS which she likes a lot but she basically ran out and bought a second one to leave at work b/c she was so tired of lugging it around. I have to say I love mine. It's very easy and comfortable and again only weighs 2 lbs which makes such a huge difference when you have to take it to and from work (esp pubblic transportation with computer, purse, briefcase etc). One final plug for the PY, their customer service is excellent. I had a little trouble with mine so I called. I didn't even have my receipt to show proof of purchase. The rep was super nice, no questions asked just sent me a brand new one for the next day. They also sent me a free label to return the defective unit.

I decided on the Purely Yours because it is cheaper, it weighs less, and it takes batteries without a separate battery pack. I can carry it back and forth to work in my purse. (I have a separate set of horns etc. there)

It is a closed system, so it can be resold later or given to someone else to use. The PIS is not.
