I was planning on registering for the ultrasaucer but my dh thinks the toys on the megasaucer look more engaging. Plus, it is a little bit cheaper. Any opionions??? TIA

Take your baby to the store and try out both. We have the Ultrasaucer, and Abigail absolutely loves it.

We have both. DH thinks the Ultrasaucer has a lot of girly toys while the Megasaucer has boy-oriented toys. There's definitely a little bit more toys on the Ultrasaucer. I'm more partial to the Ultrasaucer because there's more "musical" toys on there.

Yikes. I guess gender-role stuff is inevitable at some point, but for babies?

We had the ultrasaucer for dd (now 15mo) and she adored it. What I liked about the toys was that she engaged with different ones at different times of development. At first she was enamored with the frog and butterfly....just hung out and watched them..then she moved on to pulling down the bee, snail and flower to herself (she LOVED to munch on the bee's wings and the snail)...then all the beads and spinning cylinder, and lastly all the musical things...it took awhile for her to have enough strength to push the buttons to make the music start.
Dd used it from about 2.5/3mo (with a towel folded up behind her) until she started crawling about 6mo. Since then she plays with it from the outside. Last night she was standing there spinning the seat around in it and playing with the spinning cylinder.
We have DEFINITELY gotten our money's worth out of this toy!

Your baby probably won't care either way. They're both pretty neat, and a vast improvement over laying on the floor staring at the ceiling. We liked the Ultrasaucer because we thought the toys were cooler, but if your husband wants to get the Mega, go with it. Makes the men feel important to make a decision occasionally ;)

We have the ultrasaucer and have used it with two boys now and couldn't be more pleased. Both of them have LOVED it! My 5 month old coos and shrieks in delight over the toys. I highly recommend it to anyone who asks. (it's actually one of the few things I didn't dump after my first baby).
I'm the odd one out, but we have the Megasaucer. My DD just loved it. My mother bought it over the Ultrasaucer because she too liked the toys on it better. I have it in another room now (since DD is too old for it) but she still loves sneaking into that room and playing with the toys and putting her dollies in it. Best of luck to you...

Just wanted to say that we recently got the Ultrasaucer, and I have to agree that the toys are bit "girly" with butterflies, ladybugs, flowers, it's very garden oriented. We put DS in it for the first time tonight and he was enthralled by the bumblebee. I guess it doesn't matter, but I see your DH's point. :)

Whichever one you have, your baby will love it -- I have yet to meet a baby who doesn't love their saucer. That said, we have the Ultrasaucer and my DD, now 10 months, hangs out in it for 30/40 mintues at a time if I let her (we've been using it since nearly 5 months). The flower maybe a little girly but is one of the best teether toys out there -- I take it out and put it in the fridge during breakfast so it gets nice and cold for her to play with after. The musical toys (there are 2 of them on the Ultrasaucer) are great. The most important thing is that you get one of them, so IMO you may as well get the most recent one out there. Babycenter is always having sales -- I'm sure you could get it on sale.
