I am trying to make a decision on a doll to get my ds for Christmas (among trains of course, LOL) Which one would you chose or none at all. Any suggestions?

Gotz Muffin Doll Blue $24
Very cute but worried about the plastic arms not being cuddly enough

Cabbage Patch Babies $24
Cute and cuddly but very hard to actually find the boy babies doll.

Manhattan Toys Baby Stella $24 Very Soft and cuddly...but very pink (which would still be ok with me and dh)

Pottery Barn Kids Hannah and Christopher dolls $40
Very cute and cuddly but somewhat expensive for a doll for Patrick. I almost bought it the other day but resisted. I so wish I could get my hands on a coupon for them but the SA told me no.

I've been looking for the same thing. I'm expecting another son any day now and my DS loves dolls so I wanted to get him a little baby boy for him to care for. Lets support this nurturing activity! I haven't seen anything I like though since I really want a boy doll.

I like all your choices, I would look for ease of washing and the less hair the better sicne its hard to keep nice.

My MIL bought one similar to the one on top (the harder plastic type) for my DS when I was expecting #2, and he really likes it - he named it baby billy - and now so does DS#2, who is 18 months already (gosh time flies). I dont' mind that its not cuddly, because he has plenty of cuddly stuffed animals to hug.

They also both really love the baby elmo which I picked up at big lots a long time ago. It coos and kicks and talks (and burps and says "excuse baby elmo" which really cracks them up).

Its funny, at pre-school, they get to decide what activities to do, and he often chooses to play in the house area, and be the daddy, and take care of the baby, etc. Which I love, given that my husband has taught him the name of just about every player on the new york giants, as well as about half a dozen football plays.

I think dolls for boys are great.

How about a Corolle Tidoo doll? They have some boy versions at kidsurplus.com. We have Calin for dd and she loves her.

DS has the Tidoo and loves it (though I'm sure he would love another doll too). It looks pretty unisex in a red striped outfit and can go in the bath. He takes it for "walks" in the doll stroller, feeds it bottles, and give it "baths". Very cute.

Shannon,

I vote for the Christopher doll. Way too cute! :)

We have the Hannah and Erin doll and love them both. They have held up beautifully considering the rough play they have received by relatives and friends. I was just thinking about adding Cris to our collection.

I got DH to agree to the price after I sneakily showed him some Waldorf ones I was interested in first. (Nova Natural) I always show DH the most expensive option then go down from there. ;)

I wouldn't get anything pink. My DH would instantly have a negative opinion about the doll thing. I'd go easy. Maybe get one with a theme DH likes? (Scroll down to see more)

Or one that looks just like DS:

LOL about the coupon! You may be able to get it on clearance if you can wait that long....or if they aren't sold out first.

Happy Hunting! :)
