I've read the posts on these and have read everything I can find online about each. I haven't been able to find either of these in stock in any local stores. Will someone, please, tell me which is best? I know the POD has bigger leg openings and a broader center post. I'm not concerned about which one has better colors, but more concerned about which one is more comfortable and stable. I just want to know which one to order. My brain is swimming. My new baby is due in 9 weeks, so I have plenty of time to stew on this, but I really don't want to. :)
THANKS!

Hmmmm... You might not like my advice, but we didn't do either with DD. I had heard of the Bumbo when DD was in the right age for it (I believe), but it just didn't seem all that necessary. I sort of thought that if she wasn't able to sit, yet, that she was better off lying down or being held. I didn't really see how much use we'd get out of it. Feel free to disregard this post, but if you're buying one b/c you think you *have to* have it, don't worry about it! :)

I LOVE, LOVE my Bumbo. I have never seen the other chair IRL, so I can't compare. But DD is almost 9 months and I use it every day. I plop it on the washer to do laundry, on the counter to feed her, in the doorway of the bathroom to shower, on the kitchen floor to watch me do dishes... It was some of the best money I ever spent. DD is a skinny-mini, so she still fits in it with no problems - she can actually wiggle out of it now if she tries hard enough, which means no more on the counter unless I'm standing right in front of her. For that very reason I wish it had a five-point harness ;) I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

I love my Bumbo and DS at 13 months was still using it until 3 days ago. It's comfy and easy to clean. DS has chubby legs but still could fit in there.
We started using the Bumbo at 5 months but wished we had started at 3 months. We put a breakfast tray in front w/toys and DS played and played while I cooked dinner. Then when he got older we put the bumbo inside of his wood highchair. We put a belt strap that went around him but he sat up in the high chair higher and wiggled less. He seemed more comfortable. We used it for all kinds of stuff and took it with us when we visited friends and family (locally).
Have never tried the Bebepod but I can 100% recommend the Bumbo.

I would definately go with the bumbo...we had one for our son and he loved it...we used it from 12 weeks up although he had great head control so he could have used probably by around 10 weeks for a few minutes at a time.
I actually saw the bebepod IRL about 2 weeks ago and I was not impressed at all. The material it is made from is very soft and flimsy compared to the bumbo. It takes up a smaller amount of space than the bumbo so it would be easier to store etc. but the foamy material was very soft and pliable compared to the stiffer foam of the bumbo.
Good luck in your choice but I'm with the other posters and would have to recommend the bumbo!!

Bumbo it is. Thanks for all the help. I wouldn't have this problem if I could just find these in stock somewhere. Thanks.

Last week I saw them now in Babies R Us. I think they only had blue. Target also has them in the stores now. Oh, and Target is now selling the "frog pod" to keep bath toys in!
I bought my Bumbo in January and had to drive an hour into Boston to get it, now I see it in all the chain stores a few minutes from my house (isn't that always the way?)

I returned my Bebepod back to Target. It was a waste. DS is a chubby baby, he's 19.5 lbs now. We tried it a month ago and it tipped his head back, so he sat there with his head tipped back for a minute and then he'd start crying. So... no more. I didn't try a Bumbo because it only goes to 22 lbs and well, it won't last a month for us.

Well in the grand scheme of things I think you could go with either one and be perfectly happy. I love our BEBE. Yes I could have lived without it but as far as a small portable seat for my little one it is hard to beat. The only reason I went with the pod over the bumbo was because it was on sale at the time. So not too much thought here :)

Hi,
I got the Bumbo about a month ago for my son whose now 5 mos old and he loves it and we love it! I use it when I am in the shower (bring him in the bathroom), he likes to "read" his books from his seat, play with his toys. It's really been helpful in him learning to sit up on his own too. I really like it. I got it in blue. I had never heard of the other one. I think i ordered my Bumbo from Babyuniverse cause shipping was the least expensive. I couldn't find it in any stores either!
Good luck!
Lauren
