My dd will be 6 months at Christmas. I am looking at both of these toys. The prices are approximately the same, and both will be toys she can grow into. What's your opinion? Thanks.

Wow, both of those look really fun but we don't have either of them. There was also this question posted in the lounge about someone looking for Christmas presents for her DC who will be 8 months then. Most of the responses include toys appropriate for 6 mo and up.

As to your actual question, our DD loves making tents and reading in hers, so she would certainly like that one. Also, she loves to take things apart and has for months. For her, it looks like there is more of that type of thing on the tent one. Good luck!

My ds is almost 3 but if it were me.... I like the tent one better. They both look fun but you may be able to store/put away the tent one easier.

You probably can't go wrong with either one.

My niece has the first one and I think she really liked it. She used it up until she was about 2. You can buy "add on" pieces for it. Last x-mas we bought her a bird-bath that can be used with it (or alone).

The second one looks really cool though. Kids usually love tents.

MIL gave DD the first toy you posted last Christmas. DD didn't play with it much til more like 8 months, but loves it now. It is a hit with every kid that comes over, as well (even my friends 3 year old loves it!). Its nice that it can be pushed up next to the wall and not take up much space. hth!

My son received this toy last Christmas when he was 8 months old and loves it still today. He plays with it for a little bit everyday, so I would definitely say it was great gift for him. The other toy looks really cute, but I can tell you first hand the first toy will definitely get a lot of use.

I would go with the house over the tent simply b/c DD can pull up better on the house. I've seen rave reviews around here for the house.

Smething else to consider- Fisher Price Baby Gymnastics WAll:

I would also recommend this item for 6 months and up. at 5 mos DS would sit with a boppy in the middle of it (you can shape it in a U) then with just a pillow, then unassisted, then would use it to pull up, crawl through, and eventually walk around holding. DS is now 15 months and it is still his favorite - just told DH yesterday that it was the best $50 spent on a toy.

I second this! DD got this for Christmas last year when she was 8mo old. She played with it every day for months. I took it apart a couple of months ago and DD found it the other day and pulled it out for me to set up again. It is nice because you can just set up two panels if you want so it doesn't take up as much space.
