We will be moving our infant into our 2 year old's RA in about 4 months, so we need to get him a new seat. He is 37", 30 lbs., so a little on the thin side, but tall for his age. I looked at the measurement page on carseatdata.org, and it looks like the Husky and Marathon both have higher harness slots than some of the combination seats. Does anyone have experience with both seats? Will one work better for a tall, thin child than the other? We definitely want our son to have the seat that is safest for him. We would like this to be the last seat we buy for several years. :)

TIA

Either seat really WOULD last you quite a long time. My 46 inch tall, 40 pound 6 year old fits in the Marathon, right at the top slots, and he is under the second from the top slots in the Husky.
The Marathon is a little more fitted to a 2 year old...more cozy and better for sleeping, and it can be taken on a plane or put in another car much more easily than the Husky...but if you want to keep your kids harnessed for another 6 full years...well, wait, either one would work (Britaxes expire after 6 years), lol....by the time baby is 6, the Marathon would still fit and would just be expiring.

I would seriously suggest looking at both of them if at all possible, you may love/hate one or the other.

My 6 yo DOES love his Husky, but he is more than mature enough for his booster (the Bodyguard) at this point, and you may want to think about that, too.

Thank you, Julie. I have been unable to find a store locally that sells either the Marathon or the Husky, so opinions from experienced users help a lot.

The harness slots on a Wizard would be the same as the Marathon, right? If you had the choice, would you prefer a Marathon or Wizard?

Decisions, decisions...:)

Oh, I DO love the Wizard :)

This isn't my DS, but he's an awesome example of how a kid fits in both the MA and WZ...and even the Travller Plus, which is the same as the Husky...so go ahead and click on all the pics on this site with those seats, it should really help you http://pages.ivillage.com/momika/carseatphotos/id32.html
