I am not sure I should post this here after all that happened, but I was in contact with another a large vendor and they have expressed interest in providing us with co-op prices on a variety of baby items.
I was wondering first off if people would be interested in another carseat co-op - I asked about including the Britax Companion and Husky. I also wanted to know whether people feel this should be posted on this board or on a Yahoo board.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Melissa

I am interested...I would prefer not to have to go on a Yahoo Board. I just found this board recently & have very few posts, but I would love to be involved!
Thanks!

Maybe an alternative way to handle this besides a Yahoo group is creating a list of those interested and only allowing those folks to get the co-op price. That was how they handled the Ella bags co-op on the diaper bag board. Someone collected names of those interested and the store only honored the price for those folks. That way anyone who reads the boards can get the price, but it doesn't get circulated widely. (Assuming of course the store doesn't want it circulated - they may actually prefer wider distribution.)

There are definitely a bunch of people who were disappointed about missing the last co-op. Keep us all informed!

Yes please keep us informed. I don't post a lot and would hate to loose out due to lack of postings. I would 100% go into a coop for a Marathon - didn't have the funds in time for the last coop.

I'm looking to buy an RA. I'd be in if that was a choice.
I need to buy a husky soon. Thank you for arranging another co-op for us.

Count me in on another carseat co-op. I missed out on the last one and am in need of a Wizard and a Marathon.
I would hate to see the co-op move to a Yahoo board.

I'm also interested. My son is growing so much, he's not going to last too much longer in the snugride. I'm interested in a wizard and perhaps also a marathon.

I am waiting to here back from the owner regarding the pricing and when he could offer the sale prices. I also asked if he would like this sale to be limited, in which case, I would probably get a list of names or e-mail addresses and then have him use that list or if he cares if it is open to the public. I told him the history of the last co-op and the amount of carseat sales that resulted, so I am waiting to hear back on details.
I will keep everyone on this board posted.

Dummy me knew about the other co-op and forgot about it. Duh! I would be interested - I'm looking for a Wizard or a Marathon. I wouldn't care one way or another if it were a Yahoo offering or not.
Thanks for taking the initiative to work on this offer!

Melissa,
I would love to be able to buy a Britax through a co-op. I have lurked on this board mainly to find out more about carseats and which to choose. I have decided to buy either a marathon or a RA. I didn't use the last coop cause I didn't realize what a great price you were all getting and I only saw it the day it expired. Please let me know ASAP if this is going to work or not. How soon do you think you can get it organized?? My dd is already approaching her weight limit and I need a seat soon. Please keep me posted. If you are starting a list my email address is terilwatkins@hotmail.com
Thanks,
teri

Melissa,
I just wanted to suggest that perhaps you want to do what was done with the Ella bag co-op.
Basically, all those interested have to send you their email address and name and BabyBargains user id. Perhaps you can add what they want to buy also.
Then you send that list out to the vendor and only if a person is on that list then they get to make a purchase.
This would filter out 'outsiders', if that makes any sense.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
Thanks,
Rashmi.
PS: If the vendor is not GB then i am interested in the car-seat co-op!

I am definitely interested in a carseat co-op. we will be needing a new seat soon & I am thinking we'll get the roundabout.
I think the "limited" coop is the way to go. Collecting the email addresses, etc. seems to make the most sense in order to keep things under control.

I bought a MA thru the last co-op, by the way it came today, and it is wonderful, I don't really understand all the fuss about the ebay thing, if someone wre to have paid the 5 bucks for the info and then purchased a MA it would have cost them a total of 204.99. Isn't that still an awesome deal??? Though I personally would NOT sell info or a link to savings, I would be more than happy to pay the 5 bucks to get the great deal. The way I see it more moms with more babies in safer seats at a great price. I don't care either way, I appreciate the group, I appreciate, the advise and the co-ops. I don't have any ill intent, just stating my opinion.

I am new here and this is the first I have heard of a co-op but I would certainly be interested in a Marathon for my husband's car.
Thanks for doing this for us!

Hi Melissa,
I thought I posted yesterday, but I don't see my message. So here I go again.... sorry if this is a duplicate...
I am interested in buying a Marathon or a Wizard in the racer pattern, if available.
Is there a way to verify that the vendor will be providing merchandise with recent manufacture dates. I think we should benefit from the lessons learned in the GB co-op and not accept or purchase old merchandise.
Do you have any idea when the co-op sale might take place? I don't check the boards frequently and, like many of us, I missed the limited oppportunity for the last co-op. If you could post a general idea of when the sale might take place, we can watch for the information.
I would prefer not to use a yahoo board. I don't know if I would qualify and I have never used a yahoo board and do not know that that involves. If there is a big concern about limiting access to the sale to baby bargain members, I like the suggestion of providing an e-mail list. The list could either be given to the vendor or a password could be mailed to individuals on the list. This suggestion, however, creates extra work for the co-op organizer.
Thank you for making this opportunity available for us all. You are being very generous with your time.

I am also interested in buying a Marathon as I missed out on the last co-op. Although if the co-op will take a long time I may not be able to participate because my son is fast approaching the limit on his Snugride. So I'll be anxiously awaiting details on the timing. Thanks!!!

I spoke to the owner again. He was having a meeting today about our co-op and then they were going to contact the manufacturer to see what type of deal they could get, and what kind of deal they could pass down to us.
I'll keep everyone posted as I get information.

I was really sorry I missed the first co-op. We need a Husky SOON. If the price was good enough, I'd buy a Marathon as well.
I also would rather keep the co-op here, rather than on a yahoo board. Please add my name to the co-op list, and keep us posted!

I would LOVE to be included in this co-op I am interested in a marathon or two, and possibly the Britax Bodyguard. I have three seats to buy so this would be a life saver. As you can see I am new, although I have lurked for months and missed out on the last co-op as funds weren't available.

I'm definitely interested in a coop on either a marathon or a new infant seat.
Although I don't post much I've been lurking for over 2 years so I'd rather not do a Yahoo group if it had number of posts required etc.
Thanks for trying to do this!

Hi Everyone,
I just spoke to the owner again and he said they may be able to put together some value added packages. For example, if you buy a Marathon they will throw in an extra cover, but they cannot offer the prices that the last co-op had. He said maybe other brands, but not Britax.
Sorry for the misleading thread. I tried.

Last week there was a vendor who expressed interest in serving another co-op. (It was in a thread about people who were disappointed about missing the last one). Is that the vendor you've been working with? If not, maybe we've still got a shot...

Just to let all the moms out thier know the co-op last time was at the stores cost so that price point would be a far reach. The best deal other than cost would be about the 239.99 price point. That has ben the price seen on most sales for britax. The minium price point per britax is suggested to be at the 249.99 price. Hope you all the luck in the world getting another co-op at $ 199.00

I don't remember what company it was.... but they posted under one of the threads about how many were sold by Great Beginnings. I remember checking out their website and they are part of the same "group" as great beginnings.
I dont' have time to go find the post, but if anyone is serious about finding someone to do it again they might want to go find that post.

If anyone uses this as a reference b/c they found another vendor interested in doing the co-op, please include me! I'm at wits end trying to find a 2nd seat for my husband's car. We almost NEVER put DS in there, but it seems I've exhausted all other convertible possibilities. He fits in nothing. So a 2nd MA is my only option. Again stressing how little it'll get used. Naturally, I'd like to spend as little as possible. Another $199 deal sounds great to me!
I remember babyage.com had the MAs for $209 not too long ago, but I'd already bought mine for $250 from BRU.
I do get overwhelmed by the sheer # of posts out here and miss stuff, so I hope if another deal starts up, I don't miss that one!!!!
