Here are a few pics of the Houndstooth fabric for the Marathon.
I know some of you were wondering what it looked like.
It is a very soft fabric. We are very happy with it.
Hope this helps the ones trying to decide on this fabric.

One last picture
I imagined it to be darker gray. I don't know if i like it now.

It is a bluish grey. It is more grey than blue for sure. I had it in front of a window too.
your pics look so much lighter than the britax pics on their website. would you say their pics aren't accurate?

I think their pics are a bit darker than at least it looks in a bright room. I think it will look darker in my car (dark charcoal type) because it will pick up the darker grey. I will let you know- perhaps post another pic from the car once DHn installs it tonight.
Don't you hate choosing? I agonize over everything.
i'm just wondering if i should call & change my order. can you set it in your car & take a pic for me. i just think it looks like baby blue...i don't want baby blue. I likec the charcoal grey og the briyax pics. this doesn't look like it will hide the dirt at all. what do you think?

You know it is an in between my pictures and their pictures. It is defenetly not baby blue. It is GREY for sure. If I had to define the grey I would say bluish grey but if you look at it it looks like a grey car seat. Now.. about the stains I think it would do ok. It is a very neutral without being a light color. Hold on I will stick it in my car and take a picture..
I will be right back..

Here are a couple more pictures. You know I have to say it is darker than it looks in the first batch of pictures I posted. It is not quite as dark as the Britax pictures though.
Lets see if these help you.

The previous picture was inside of the garage with the garage door opened and plenty of light.
Here is one with the car pulled out to the driveway and the door open (ok - that was probably obvious)
Hope these help. I think I will also post one with the Peg Perego car seat which is silver so you see the contrast.
Thanks a million! You are great for taking the pic. It does look a lot darker there and more like what I have been envisioning. Ugh, I don't know if mine has shipped yet so I don't know if I should just get the new blues. Well, I like the way it looks in your car and I like the color in this last pic.
ETA: OK, I think I like it. I think the pics you took show that it isn't baby blue. It is a bit lighter than I imagine but I think it will work.
Thanks again for going through the hassle of lugging it to the car and taking photos for me. That was so sweet of you.

Ok last one. Notice the lint my DS has left in the seat :) ?

No problem! I am just like you. I think everything and I hate to choose colors so this would have been helpful. I am kind of glad now that I did not have it because I would have questioned it myself non stop. I thought also the Houndstooth would be really dark and it is not quite as dark... but it is really, really nice and I LOVE it. I cannot keep something I am not happy with because it bugs me to death and I do really like it. I am glad I did not choose the news blues for two reasons. A - This fabric matches my dark interior much better. The news blues would have jumped out a bit. B- I know I am getting the newest car seat possible because these are the latest models manufactured on Jan 2004.
Anyway... good luck choosing. It is kind of nice that now the big thing is not sitting in the middle of the "empty" formal living room anymore :)

The last picture gives you a really good idea too.. beacause you can see the difference between the viaggio and the marathon. It blends so well with my car ... I just love it. :) Gosh listen to me... I feel like a Britax spoke woman.
BTW My plan B if I hated the houndstooth was to bet a Britax cover in News Blues (heheheheh!)
Those were exactly my two reasons for going with the Houndstooth as well. And, I'm glad someone else is as obsessive about such "silly" things as carseat fabric. DH is probably just laughing and rolling his eyes at this point!

hahahahahah... my DH is so sick of me. I want to cry sometimes I get so nervous choosing. I died over the stroller too.... now I am obsessing about the highchair. My specialty is to buy three at BRU bring them home and analize them to death and then return the loosers. :) heheheheh

Thank you so much for posting these pictures!!! It is so hard to tell what color it actually is from a little square swatch on a website! I must say that it seems to be quite a bit lighter than I thought. How plush is it? Have you seen the Faux Paw IRL and is it comparable? I am the one who got the Maverick and it is NOT plush at all. Thank you again!

I just bought it in Racer and we are disappointed because the fabric gets heated up in sun and gets cold in the winter. Do you think this would happen with yours

I am not sure how plush it is in comparaison to the other Marathons but it seems very nice and soft to me and plenty plush for my DS.
Regarding the sun question... I don't think this will be an issue. It is pretty much the same tone than the interior of my car as you can see and kind of the same material so I think it will be ok.
I thought about getting the Razor but did not do so because I was afraid the black would show lint really bad. I had not thought about the heat factor. BTW I am in TX so it is hot here :)
