Are the Car Seat Canopies by Combi Safe? Anyone? Julie??

I was reading an older post about the canopies made to fit on carseats/strollers. Are these safe? I thought you weren't supposed to attach anything to the carseat that didn't come in the box. Is that just the offical *wink, wink* word, or is it really important?

I didn't bother reading that post, because I think everyone used to say those canopies don't fit and don't waste your money...I'll go read it, lol.

Anyway...anything you add to a seat that wasn't originally crash tested with it COULD be dangerous and generally voids the warranty.

But my feeling is, if the parent understands the possible risks, and the product does not interfere with the installation or the harness, then they can make a decision that best suits them (in other words, I'm a wimp who hates to harangue people about stuff like this, and like to spend more time making sure the seat is properly used and installed ;) )
