I live in the Chicago burbs and winter is definately right around the corner. So far Im getting by with just a blanket over the car seat and warmer clothes under neath. What is the best (read- safest) suggestion for a four month old in an infant seat?

1. Do I get one of those car seat covers that just goes on the outside of the seat with elastic?
2. Do I get one of those "Bundle me" thingys that goes in the car seat with baby inside.
3. Do I just bundle up baby in a bunting type cover? (heard that wasn't the greatest idea as could interfere with safety of car seat straps.)

Didn't have this problem with my 2 1/2 year old as he out grew his infant car seat just before it got really really cold and windy up here.

HELP!!!! Anythoughts would be greatly appreciated!!

You definitely want something with the least possible interference with the straps and your ability to tighten the harness properly...which pretty much means you need the kind that only goes over the top of the infant seat :)
I don't know why I could only find the goldbug one on ebay, I hope that doesn't mean it's discontinued, but here's basically what you want: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3982540426&category=66696 Eddie Bauer also makes one that is supposed to be pretty good.

You definitely do not want the Bundle Me. You want something that goes over the infant seat like a shower cap. My sister has one by Kiddopotamous (sp?) that she got at the Orland Park, IL, Babies R Us store.

ETA: Here's the info:
