So, my DH wants to be 100% sure that it makes more sense to purchase another MA for my 8 mos. old who is quickly outgrowing his Snugride instead of buying a 5pt. harness/booster for my 35# 37.5" almost 3 year old, and moving him into her MA.
I feel like she's not going to be ready for a booster anytime soon, and I think I'm understanding that the boosters will be better in a few years.
I'm too sleep deprived to construct an answer from everyone else's posts (sorry, DS has been teething and not sleeping non-stop for 2 mos. ugh). I think the answer is another MA, but DH wants me to be sure.
Thank you for reading this post.
ETA: We just moved DD's straps on the MA to the top position if that matters.

Honestly, I would not buy another MA right now. I would look at a high weight limit harnessed seat (Regent or Apex) for the 3 year old, assuming you still have a number of years left on the MA before it expires. If you have 3-4 years left on the MA, it will last until the 8 month old is FF. Then the younger child can have the harnessed seat and the older one will likely be mature enough and big enough for a booster. If you buy a 2nd MA, the older child will outgrow the MA in 2 years at most, and you will have to then consider buying the harnessed seat anyway most likely. I guess I just couldn't justify spending money on another RF seat when you only have 1 RF rider, if that makes sense.

I do have a little over 3 years left on the MA, and what you say makes sense. DD loves her "purple seat", so I was sort of hoping to keep her in it. But, these seats are too expensive to purchase for a short time.
Thanks for your comments!

The Radian, Regent, and Safeguard seat are definitely taller than the MA, since your almost three yo is quite a big kiddo :)

Edited to add that I double-checked the date on my MA and I only have 2.5 years left on it. Rats. We didn't know better to check the date on it at the time we got it. Does this make a difference? Or should I still track down a Regent?
(I'm sad to say that I just like the covers better on the MA...that's my big hang-up. Silly, I know!).

So, of all of the options, I like the Regent best. Does anyone know if it'll fit in a Passat Wagon? I can't locate one IRL to try it out.
Thank you!!!!

I've heard that Britax will have more cover options for the Regent coming out in May. How about something like a Scenera for the baby for a few months until the new covers for the Regent are available. Then, get a Regent for your older child and give the baby the Marathon.
