I need to help my SIL decide on and find a convertible seat for her 14 mo 18 lb DS (he was a preemie and is pretty small). She has an infant seat that he not liking being so reclined in and a marathon for the primary car and need a secondary seat for another car. She wants to spend as little $ as possible but not have to buy another convertible seat in the future (so durable). And of course safety is of upmost importance.
The main issues are:
DN is so small and needs to fit in the seat comfortably and safely
Seat needs to last a long time
Needs to be easy to use.
What is recommended these days?

Evenflo Triumph Advance...it's like a Marathon, will last till booster age, 17+ inch top slots, 50 pound ff harness limit, 35 pound rf limit, but only $129! Only issue is the knobs can be tricky to use, and may take some getting used to.
And I know it won't last as long, but the Safety 1st Uptown also has tall top slots, should still last him to age 4ish in a harness (40 pounds, 16 inch top slots), and is comfy and easy to use and only $89. Cosco Scenera is so cheap she won't care it barely lasts to age 4, but it's very easy to use, and only $40 (great for air travel, too!)

Hi Julie!
That's exactly the info I was looking for. Thank you so much.
Now, where did you get those prices at?
Thanks again!

Walmart (scenera and uptown, standard and sale price, uptown is usually 99) and Target (scenera and evenflo), I believe, the Evenflo is at Babies R Us, too, though they may have a 'fancy' version that costs more.
