Is there a list somewhere of all the strollers that "convert" from single to double by using a toddler add-on seat? I know I've read about ABC and Valco and maybe Kiwi (?) but can't find anything that states all in one place which brands/models offer this feature.
Once I get this info then I can move on to trying to figure out which is best and if any are actually affordable ;)
TIA!!

I believe that someone on here has a website that lists alternatives to the traditional double strollers.
Off the top of my head, here are some that are singles and convert to a double with a toddler seat attachment...
Jogger-types ...
Valco
Kiwi E3
ABC
Koolstride (I believe that I read somewhere that it has a toddler eat attachment ... not 100% sure though)
Pram-types ...
Bumbleride Queen B
Bertini
Emmaljunga
Thats all I can think of right now.
I have a Kiwi E3 v2 with the second seat and I love it .. my kids love it ... it really is awesome! I got all of the accessories and they are all awesome, too!
My sister is getting me a Bumbleride Queen B for Christmas ... the toddler seat attachment should be out then. The 45 lbs total weight concerned me on this one, until my sister e-mailed them and they said that is the recommend weight for maximum performance, but it can definately carry more! So, I'm not gonna worry about it since the older kid will be getting in and out of it when we use it.
Good Luck!

THanks for the info! If you think of the link for the site you mentioned, I'd love it!
WIth the Kiwi, that's the one where they're kind of sitting "on top" of eachother, right? How old are your kiddos? I think it seems cool, but can't imagine an older baby liking his view blocked like that?

The website on double alternative is by MamaKath, a great member of this board. See http://pages.ivillage.com/mamakath/mystrollercollection/index.html
Another option is using a footboard for a second child (best if older child is 2 1/2 years or older). The footboard is attached to the back of the stroller and the older child stands on it (cannot sit) and glides along with the stroller. Strollers with attached footboards are the Perego Pliko and P3 (best known and easiest to find), a few Chiccos, some BebeConforts (not usually found in the US), and the new Inglesina Liberty (just reviewed on strollerqueen's website www.strollerqueen.com).
You can also buy a separate footboard, which is a larger platform on wheels that attaches behind the stroller. The two major ones are Kiddy Board and Buggy Board (differ in how they attach; you buy the right one to fit your stroller), both seen at www.lascal.se.

My kids are 21.5 months and 3.5 months old - we've used the Kiwi since a week after #2 was born.
In the Kiwi, the older kid sits in the front and not in the back. My 3.5 month old just started sitting in the the back seat (it was in toddler/ newborn mode before, now it is in toddler/toddler mode) I have him in there with a Snuzzler and so he's comfy, suported and loves looking around. I also have hung a toy bar across the back seat for him to look at (I got that idea from someone's website from here!). He has more of a view than it looks like he would in pictures of the stroller. I guess its something you'd have to try out in person to get a good feel of it. :)
I have strolled my older neices and nephews in it and most of them seem to prefer the back seat. My older DD also seems to like it when she rides in it. I guess it depends on the kid. But IMO, its not any more restricted of a view than a stroller with the 'jump' seats attached up front.
I suppose if the kid doesn't know any different than it doesn't matter to them. :)
Good Luck!

Congratulations Lynne. Once I read Lori's post in the Lounge I rushed over here to find out who. Now you'll have even more experience for your LC studies!
