Please help me decide!!!!

We currently have the Zippy, and I'm not thrilled with it. We do a lot of walking, and it's not the smoothest ride. I bought it (registered for it) b/c I thought $700+ was ridiculous for a stroller, but now I'm not so sure! It drives me nuts that I can't push the stroller with one hand, and going over bumpy surfaces feels like my son is being shaken up!

I like the fact that it has a fairly large sunshade and that it folds up fairly small.

We are leaning toward selling it and getting a Bugaboo (Frog) for the smoother ride, and b/c my husband is 6'4" and doesn't find the Zippy very comfortable.

FWIW, we live in San Francisco and have about 15 or so steps to our front door. Also, I'm a runner and as soon as my son can sit up, we'll be getting a running stroller.

Any advice? TIA!

I have both a Zippy and a Bugaboo. I would never choose to take the Zippy for outdoors use over my Bug, no comparison at all!

I've been trying to sell my Zippy for a couple months now, because it just doesn't get used anymore.

The Bug will definitely give you a smooth ride and one-handed steering, you will be thrilled. Plus, the handlebar is naturally much higher than the Zippy, so your husband should find it more comfortable too.

Many people here will probably also suggest the Mountain Buggy Urban Single. It's also a great one-handed push, smooth ride, and a little more rugged. It is about $200 cheaper, but you miss out on Bugaboo's included perks: bassinet, raincover, mosquito cover, and maintenance kit. Plus the Bug's sunshade gives better coverage...not as good as the Zippy's though.

Personally, I say go for it! If it doesn't work out for you, it has an amazing resell value.

I only have the bugaboo but I think it is a great stroller for walking around town and use it every day for this purpose. It is such a smooth rid and easy to push one handed. I also think it is good for taller people.. I'm only 5'8" but I find some other strollers uncomfortable. My stride doesn't change when pushing the Frog...

However, I have a different stroller for the mall and taking the subway since the thought of having to carry it up the subway steps isn't appealing since the elevators don't work on the Boston T.

I would try to test out your tolerance for carrying it up and down 15 steps... I think it is hard to do the 5 steps out the front of my house so I usually leave my chasis at the back steps (only 2 steps) and only bring it in at night.
