Hello everyone. This is my first post. I live in Israel and want to buy a stroller on-line to be sent to America to my parents house. With all I have read and heard from friends, it seems the Inglesina Zippy is the one I want (but I am open to suggestions of course). I wanted to know if any of you know a way to find the stroller on line for cheaper?! I have heard you can get great deals on strollers on line but I am not sure where.
I am also buying the SnugRide infant car seat and the Snap N Go stroller base for it for while I am here in Israel. I have heard it is easy to use. Any feedback would be great.
Thanks so much for your help.

Hi Stacey,
The next month or two is the best time to buy strollers, because the 2005's will be discounted as stores are making room for the 06's.
You can find good deals at:
www.specialtybaby.com (Albee Baby)
www.arunningstroller.com
www.travelingtikes.com
Albee baby has some great prices on the peg perego p3 2005 models. This stroller is very similar to the zippy.
Also, try calling Katz in The Cradle in Brooklyn. He sometimes has good prices.

Hi,
I think you made good choices. I have a Zippy and LOVE it, and a snugride and a Kolcraft Universal Car seat Carrier (like a snap-n-go only a little bit better, in my opinion :) )
The way I find the best prices is go to www.froogle.com type what you're looking for, for example "Inglesina Zippy" then choose "sort by price". I also recommend www.arunningstroller.com, If you find it cheaper elsewhere on line you can call her and she will match the price.
If your parents have a baby depot store close to where they live, that is the cheapest place I found to buy the Universal Car seat Carrier (not on line).
BTW, just curious, how much are they selling the Zippy for at Shilav?
Good luck!

What is the difference between the 2005 and 2005 1/2? Looks like a running stroller has the best price on the 2005 version. I have not seen all that much difference. Are there places in Israel I should be shopping for this stuff myself?

The 2005 1/2 has a cup holder (not so big, so depending on what you like to drink, it might be useless), a kiddy board for a big sibling, and different colors.
Do you live in Jerusalem? There are a lot stores in Talpiot- there is a small mall -Achim Yisrael or something- on the corner of HaUman and Yad Charutzim. There are 2 baby gear shops on the second floor. There are some other stores in that neighborhood as well. I moved away 1 1/2 years ago, so I'm not so familiar anymore.
I would definetly do some price comparisons before ordering. Most likely, you'll get a better deal online, but it's worth checking out.

I also found a great price on http://stores.kiwi-kid.com for the 2005 1/2 if anyone is looking. Their sale ends 12/31 and I am thinking about buying from them since their shipping is cheap.

I also live in Jerusalem, and I did check out stroller prices here before buying. They really are a lot higher (because of VAT), so it usually pays to buy in the US if you have a way to get it over here. If you do want to, check out Chasdei Shmuel (in Ezrat Torah), they usually have excellent prices.
Also - I know the Zippy was the "in" stroller when I was looking 9 months ago, but since then many of the people I know who bought it then have told me they're not that thrilled with it, it's not built for these hills. (Of course, there are people who are thrilled with it too!) It might be worth it to double-check with some people who have had it a bit longer.
B'hatzlacha!
