Hi all,

I have an almost 4 yo and a 15 mo. I currently have a Sit n Stand and and Aria, which I've been happy with, except sometimes I don't want to take the Sit n Stand b/c the 4 yo mostly wants to walk and I just don't want to deal with the big stroller, so I take the Aria. But then, he sometimes gets tired and wants to ride and then I carry the 15 mo in a sling or Ergo so the 4 yo can ride for a while.

For as little as he rides, I am wondering if the P3 would be a better choice so he can ride on the footboard when he gets tired and then I only have a single stroller to deal with. I'm tired of pushing around a double with only one kid in it 75% of the time.

What is the weight limit for the rear footboard? I looked at the instruction manual on the Peg website but didn't see anything on it. If there's not a published weight limit, from your experience what is about the max? My DS weighs about 35 lbs. Does your older child like riding on it?

Also, there are different versions of P3s, so I'm not clear about those differences. I see there's the Pliko, and then Target has the P3 Ultimate - is this scaled down somehow?

Are there any other recommended strollers that have a rear footboard?

Thanks for your help!

I have a 2003 P3 and my daughter never rode on the footboard. It is not really a comfortable ride. The footboard is too small and their face ends up in the hood of the stroller.

The 2007 P3's will have a bigger footboard. Also the current venezias have a larger footboard than the p3's.

I love the P3 for the footboard and will be buying another. I have a 6 year old who started riding on it at 2.5 and still rides occassionally. My 3.5 year old son also rides on it. Occassioanlly they both try to ride on it (though it gets a little heavy to push, but doesn't tip). They call it the "surf board".

When they were shorter they did sometimes get their face in the hood, but it didn't seems to bother them. If we were going someplace indoors, I would just remove the hood and leave it in the car. If we were outside I'd push some of the hood a bit forawrd to give a bit more room.

I know the Chicco C1 has a footboard and so does the Zippy. Strollerqueen has a great review of the C1 and the P3 side by side on her site.

I have a Peg Venezia (2001, from my first child) that I am currently using with my 3 month old and my 5 year old. Because of the reversible handles, my 5 year old can stand on the Venezia footboard even when the infant seat is in the Venezia which has been sooooo handy. The Venezia has 2 footboards, one on each side. My 5 year old is well over 40 pounds and over 40 inches and still can easily ride.

Thanks for your replies everyone!

I was comparing the 2007 & 2006 P3s at BRU, and the only differences I could see were an improved braking system and minor cosmetic changes, nothing else really functional. The rear footboard on the 2007 was the same. I was hoping that it would be bigger. If that's all the improvement, I may as well get a deal on the 2006.

Was I missing something as far as improvements? Might the BRU one be a different model? It said "Freestyle" if that means anything.

I remembered that my neighbor has a P3 and she's going to let us try it out before buying, so that will be helpful.

Lastly, I found new in the box 2007 P3s on an ebay store. Is there any reason I shouldn't buy it there, like does it invalidate the warranty, or something?

Thanks again!
