I am due in 3 weeks with #2. I have a 21 month old and live in NYC.
I defnitely need an air tired double.
I see the new BAbyjoggers are coming out soon. I don't want to get the original double if a month later I will see the new ones out. But will it really be that much better? And will it really be released in December? Do you think it's worth the wait?
I was going to buy a lightweight double for travel anyhow, so I could get that to start and then get the jogger in a month or so.

I am in basically the same boat as you - just due a week later. I did go with the 2007.5 BJCSD and have had it for a few weeks now. I used an Amazon promotional code and got a lot off so it was about $350. I couldn't decide if I wanted to wait for the new features on the new models but ultimately the discounted pricing led me to just pull the trigger on the 2007.5. Since then Amazon has started taking orders for the Elite, the Mini and the new Classic.
They say the Elite will ship on Dec 13. The new classics will not ship until Feb. 1. The minis are supposed to be shipping imminently but who knows if that will slip.
I really like the looks of the new line, especially the domed canopies (very phil + teds but bigger/better). The black on black double looks great. If I hadn't gotten such a good deal on the 2007.5, I'd definitely go with the Elite double (and...am coveting a bit already). I like the new feature of the vented recline - on mine there is no venting when the seat is reclined. You'd be able to see the baby (or your tot) napping while you push with this feature and my guess is it's cooler for the kiddos. Any add-ons they come out with in the spring are going to be compatible with the new model. I think with a new baby the extra padding would be nice. Waiting a month after your delivery, especially in this weather, seems like it wouldn't be too bad. You could sling the new babe until you get the double.
FWIW, Amazon has 10% off plus a subscription to Cookie, if you order by the end of the month. HTH...
