Now that my 7 months old is crawling, I need a babygate at the top of my stairs. I also would prefer if my 3 and 5 year old can open and go thru it without my assistance.

Does such thing exist?
I would go crazy having to open the gates for my older ones ALL THE TIME, but I've pretty much given up.

Any ideas are appreciated:-)

Hmm. My 4 year-old ds can open both of our baby gates (top and bottom). We have Kidco gates (the top is a wall-mount and the bottom is a pressure mount style). We showed him the first few times, and he caught on pretty fast. The trick is making sure he remembers to LOCK the gate behind him that he opens. He's pretty good--remembers about 80% of the time. So I have to keep my eye out to make sure he's thought about it and done it.

Have you treid different gates with your kids? The pressure mount one is a little trickier than the wall-mount gate, but Jack can manage both.

We just put our KidCo Safeway gate back up at the top of the stairs, and our 3 yrs + 10 months DD LOVES to open and close it. I'm planning on getting another one for the bottom of the stairs because the pressure-mounted gate that we stepped over with her doesn't work when she needs to step over it!
