Edited to say that it's a 15 hour drive and he's on his way...so we "should" see him by tomorrow afternoon sometime. we're excited this is FINALLY happening! am soooo excited that i won't be a single mom anymore. it's much too hard of a job, and i'm tired of it. i'm ready to resign already :) (the single mom part, not the "mom" part!)

my husband was supposed to come home very late tonight, but i just found out it won't be until late next week now. well at least that's the "current" plan. it's only changed probably 15 times. first it was supposed to be mid october, then before halloween, then by halloween, then a day after, then a couple days after, then mid of this week, then thursday, then friday morning, and now it's "currently" next week. i feel like a dog whose spirit has been severely broken.

i'm so angry and bitter. lauren will be 8 months wed and he's been here maybe 3 of them. and yes, i know it's not his fault, but it doesn't make it any less frustrating.

right now i have so many more things i could complain about - but really, what's the point. it's not like it would do me any good.

Mom to Lauren Genevieve

Oh Tammy, I'm so sorry. I wish we were closer and could be with you to keep you company while Evan is away. I wish I knew what to say to make you feel better. Sending big hugs your way.

Tammy,
Cry away, honey- I'm always glad to listen. Few people have dealt with what you've been through since last December! I've only ever been so impressed by you, your determination to be the best mommy for sweet little Lauren, and how tough this last year has been on you- but you've come through it so well (and so has Lauren). I'll send prayers for Evan's speedy return that you three can have a great holiday season together, and that he'll be home to stay! Hang in there, sweetie!

Great big hugs,

bluej

Definitely cry away. It's so hard to be patient, especially when you've been waiting for this for so long. There are many things I love about military life, however.....there are lots of broken promises and sudden changes in plans and they (the military, not the husbands) just don't seem to care or notice that it turns everyone's life upside down. And there's no one you can officially complain to (well, w/o it affecting your DH's career that is). You have handled this past year so well and I know there have been many ups and downs. Hopefully you'll soon be able to have a 'normal' family life. And it does do you good to complain about anything and everything; it gets it off your chest so you can go on w/o it building up and eating away at you. Hugs to you and hopefully your DH really will be home next week.

Oh Tammy, I'm so very sorry! Wish you were back in your old neighborhood so you could meet me at the Starbucks next to the Vons. Take care.

Tammy:

I'm so sorry it will get better I promise. When Evan becomes a commercial airline pilot, he'll be at home so much you won't know what to do with yourself! My uncle was away a lot too when he was in the Navy and then again for training with American Airlines. But now he stays at home for 3 weeks at a time with his family. They go on great trips around the world with his discounts too.

I know it stinks now and I'm sending your a big ol' hug.

Oh, no! Please feel free to cry here *any* time! I certainly wish that they would let Evan come home and STAY a while!! Take plenty of pictures (I know you do!) so he can see all the "moments". I know it's especially hard since you're in a new place. {{{BIG HUGS}}} to you. I will be praying for him to come home *soon*!

Argh Tammy, that's just awful news. But cry, vent, and let off steam here any time you like. My hat goes off to you and all the other mommies that are doing it all alone. But you're doing a great job and we're all here for you!

Awww Girlie.

I'm so sorry that you're going through such a rough time.

Just think of this - a few months from now, if you can handle the remains of a pink house, I will have plenty of room for you and Miss Lauren to come visit in NYC!! :)

Chin up, your man will be home soon.

HUGS

Tammy, I'm so sorry!! I understand a bit of what you're going thru--sometimes airline life can be lonely. So please vent away. I wish I was closer to help you out. I hope it gets better soon and that Evan is home soon. :) Big hugs coming your way!!

tammy, get a good cry in. i'm sure evan is feeling awful about it too -- probably the second worst thing about military life. i think you have been so strong through all of this. i hope you know how much everyone appreciates what you and lauren and evan have gone through, what all our military families are going through for our benefit. i don't think i could be as selfless -- i was delighted when chip went inactive reserve.

thanks everyone. i'm feeling a little less "empty" this morning (sleep will do that for you!) i guess i was just so sad because i love and miss him so much, and had my hopes up that he'd be home, we'd made all these plans, and now everything gets pushed once again. it's really frustrating. if i didn't love him so much, this wouldn't be so hard. and if he wasn't such a great husband and father, it wouldn't matter as much i'm sure, but HE IS! he is devastated as well. i know it's only a couple more days, and we'll obviously get through it, but we just miss him so much. thanks for the support.

Tammy,

I'm finding this post after the fact, but I just wanted to lend a sympathetic ear! I'm so sorry they keep jerking you around like that--it sounds heartless! Please feel free to complain, cry and rage here. You'll just explode if you don't let it out and we're more than happy to help get you through in whatever small way we can. Meanwhile, I'll say a special prayer that Evan comes home to you and Miss Lauren soon.

I feel so bad for you, you have been through so much. Anytime, I start feeling like I've got a lot on my plate, I think of you, Lauren and others in your situation and tell myself to get over it.

I get bummed when my hubby is an hour late from work because I'm so tired some nights. That's nothing compared to you. I'm sending you all the good vibes I can.

Be strong,

Oh, I am sorry. You are such an amazing person for being a military wife and new mom. Cry if you can -- god knows, I've cried over lesser things in this journey that is motherhood.

I'm so sorry! I honestly don't know how you and other Military wives do it. I get edgy if Dh works late.

I hope he'll be home very soon and get to stay awhile!

That stinks! I bet he's ready to bolt. Maybe it's a Murphy's Law kind of thing--don't clean, don't shower, look like crap, have nothing in the house to eat--and then everything will work out...

i'm going to make him take her often while i just nap, or read, or computer, or whatever. i can't wait :)

Hope the three of you have a wonderful reunion!

I'm so glad he is finally on his way home!!

I'm a military wife too and the part I hate the most is the uncertainty. I could handle all this alot better if he was really here when he said he would be and leave on the day they say etc. He goes tdy alot and often it's I'm gonna be gone this weekend, nope I"m not ummmm wait yeah I will *rolleyes* You know how that is. Hang in there hon, and enjoy your hair appt!!
