Sometimes I really hate doctors...

GRRR...Today Jackson was scheduled to have his 3rd. set of tubes put in. No luck. He is still running a fever and his ear infection hasn't cleared up. In fact he now has it in both ears (his other tube fell out). So now the surgery center calls me and wants to charge us a $50 rescheduling fee. WTF? I am so mad right now. For one the doctor put him on an antibiotic that has NEVER cleared up an ear infection. When he takes it we always have to go in for another round of something else. I swear, by now I know my son enough to know what works for him. Lord knows that we have had enough ear infections that I can practically diagnose him and treat him. It isn't our fault that we have to reschedule. I totally blame the doctor for not listening to me. Tomorrow will be 3 weeks that Jackson has been sick and running a fever and I just can't stand it. Stupid Doctor!
To top it all off we also went to his regular Ped. today to get is allergy test results and he is allergic to peanuts, eggs, and wheat. I can't imagine a life without peanut butter or Reeses peanut butter cups. How sad is that? :(

Thanks for letting me get this off my chest. I'm just really sad for him and can't stand him being sick. Not to mention the fact that I am really tired from him not sleeping.

I'm glad you figured out his allergies, it might help with the ear problems. I'm sorry one of them is peanuts :(, I can't imagine life without peanut butter!

I would be very upset about the fee, I would complain and not pay it. I hope you don't have to! I hope Jackson feels better soon.

Ugh...Tara you should NOT have to pay for that! And I totally understand about being able to diagnose and treat ds's ear infection. We can pretty much tell the ped now that he needs more than amox. And we need to be pretty specific about flavors at this point as well or Brig won't take the meds.
I hope that your specialist starts taking you more seriously for Jackson's sake!
As for the allergies...I'm glad you were able to figure them out. Hopefully eliminating those foods/ingredients will help him feel better even if it is extremely hard.
