I was so thrilled when DD#2 caught on to nursing right away (I couldn't BF #1). So why why why did she have to get reflux? It is breaking my heart to see her in so much pain! And instead of having peaceful, bonding nursing sessions, many of them invovle DD pulling away from the breast screaming. And I feel bad for my 3 year old who is not getting enough of my attention because I am holding her screaming sister all day. I am grateful that she is otherwise healthy and has gained plenty of weight, but I'm just sad and felt like complaining about it! Thanks for listening.

Hang in there Mama. I'm not saying it will be easy -- but you already know all about that. Just sharing reassurance that it will get better! Both Brett and Aubrey had *terrible* reflux, and both are meeting milestones and are well in the upper percentiles growthwise. (She's 3, he's 11 months.)
It definitely helped to keep them semi-upright. Have you discovered any little tricks that seem to ease your DD even a little?
Hugs!

Oh honey-lemme tell ya-I'SO know how you feel! DD is 4 1/2 mo & we didn't find out why she screamed all day, couldn't eat, shrieked in pain out of the blue, etc till she was 3 mos old. We had an upper GI done.
Shes on Prevacid-it really worked but now it has stopped & all the symptoms are back. She is MISERABLE & I hurt for her. DD also gains wt properly but is so unhappy. Funny thing is that she tries so hard to smile all the time.
I was initially told that I had to supplement w/ Form & each one made her worse. I finally EBF & it helped for a bit-now back to screaming & pulling off, etc.
Teething isn't helping here b/c of the excessive drool.
I wish there was a magic wand to make our babies better. Please feel free to commiserate w/ me. I could use the support too! It's scary to not know if its the reflux bugging her or something else.
I have to hold her all day too. Our poor 12 yr old helps out alot though. GL & I hope you find her relief soon.
