...can you all just agree to put the tag in the back? They are just learning after all. And can you not use scratchy stuff in your undies? We want this to be a pleasant experience for the little ones. And us.

I actually emailed Hanes last year about this after we got a package that had the tags on the side seam! Was quite confusing for DDs since they use the tag in the back as a visual cue for how to put their undies on. All of the other ones I bought since have had the "tagless" tags printed in the back. And our HA underwear have the tag in the back, so no issues there. Definitely no scratchy stuff - that would be bad. One DD won't even wear Hanes - only HA b/c of the exposed elastic on the Hanes and the less binding fit of the HA.
This was part of the reply I received then:
Thank you for contacting Hanes Underwear. We are always delighted when Consumers take time out of their schedule to share their comments and welcome the opportunity to address inquiries regarding our products.

The girls underwear are now being manufactured with a tagless decal stamped in the back with the size.

Yeah, we have one set (Nemo, I think?) with the tag on the side. It's OK in the ones with a big giant fish on the front, but when they just have a pattern I spend a lot of time suggesting they'd be comfier the other way around. And then she tries to put the tag in the back. Oy.

And the rocket scientist who made bikini underwear in size 3? That my 3.5 year old DD has fully grown out of despite the fact that she still comfortably wears her training pants meant for 2-year olds? That was just cruel. I couldn't believe it when I opened the package. DD wants her bottom covered!

Had to smile at that, I buy my DD boxer-briefs cuz I can't stand that stuff either. She thinks its cool because it has a 'pocket' and she always knows which side is front :)

Please forward your suggestions to Mommy undie makers, too! I'd love tagless, non-bindy elastic and no scratchy stuff. Oh, and it would be great if they'd stay out of my crack...Oops, TMI!

Hugs,
Molly

Some of our Hannas have a tag in the back and on the side! I've contemplated going through and cutting out all the side tags to make it less confusing for DD, but haven't yet. The brands with no tags threw DD for a loop at first because she was looking for an actual tag.

I agree that emailing the underwear companies is a good idea. I emailed Hanes about some Barely There undies that the stitching started to unravel after just a couple washes. Without me even asking, they promptly sent me new ones free of charge to replace them. Several months later I noticed they changed the stitching on those undies, so I do think some companies actually listen if they get enough requests/complaints!
