What lipstick would you wear..........

.....while wearing a true red sweater? I have dark hair,light skin and green eyes.....and I've always had trouble wearing red lipstick. Any other colors that would work with a true red sweater?

I usually wear reds with blue undertones vs. orangy-reds that have yellow undertones. Orangy usually looks good on peachy-skinned people. Also, I sometimes mix browns with reds to tone the red down a bit or I buy a brownish-red color lipstick. Not as shocking IMO!

I like blue reds too. Also, if you get a sheer lipstick or lipgloss, it is more forgiving.

bobbi brown makes a gorgeous sheer true red lipstck. i'm really fair skinned and this one works without being too dramatic. will look up the color at home tonight

Like Heidi said, bluish reds are better for fair skinned people. A brownish red would be forgiving too. You might be able to find a red tinted lipgloss that would work too. But you definitely want to stay away from any colors with orange undertones.

i am NO makeup expert, but i tend to go more natural on the lips and more dramatic on the eye. so you could always wear a gloss (i like mac lip glass) that gave you great shine without too much color.

I would go to the make-up counter (I am partial to MAC and Prescriptives myself) and get help. Let them try it on you to see what looks best. Your lip color should go with you, not your sweater. I can't wear red lipstick either :( I am too pale...
