Why?

Hello Everyone!

I'm a little blue....this isn't really a bitch, and I just didn't know where to post.

There was a segment on our news tonight about a man severly abusing a six month old because "she wouldn't stop sucking her thumb" and charges were also brought against the mother as accomplice for not protecting the baby. Both were found guilty and the baby is in foster care.

There are so many wonderful people in this world who would make the best parents ever, both my friends IRL and my friends here. Why is it that these people have the babies and my friends don't? I don't get it.

I know I don't get it either :(. Breaks my heart everytime I hear about cases like that. My mom says way too many reports show up in her local paper, I told her to stop telling me about them, it's too depressing.

It hits home because I'm holding my 6 month old right now and I can't ever imagine harmng her or anyone else doing something to her without me killing them first. What I don't understand is why the moms sometimes in those cases do nothing :(. And it's always over something stupid like a kid has a blanky or won't stop crying, give up the paci whatever. Something a baby/toddler is supposed to be doing.

"Why?" is a really good question.

It is like when our kids ask why there are bad guys. I don't have a good answer...

Shannon, I totally agree. It is sickening to hear of people that don't deserve the joy of a child abusing that child.
