I'm just wondering when most babies drop the evening nap.

Colwyn just went from 4 naps 2 hrs apart to 3 naps 3 hours apart (about a month or two ago), so I didn't think he'd be ready to drop that third nap so soon. He's still only sleeping 45 minutes unless I rock him after he wakes up initially, which makes me worry that he won't be getting enough sleep if he drops the 3rd.

That said, tonight is the first time that he hasn't taken his third nap, but he's wide awake and perfectly happy.

So, if he is dropping the third nap, how far apart should the naps be spaced? Sometimes he can barely make it to 2.5 hours, much less 3..

DD dropped her third nap at about 9 months (which is typical, according to Weissbluth). She wakes up at around 6:00, takes naps at 9:00 and 1:30, and goes to bed around 7:30. Her naps are not long, usually only an hour each, but she sleeps through the night. HTH!

I'm guessing, but I think it probably was around 9 mths or so. Maybe 10. When that happened, he lengthened his afternoon nap a bit, and he just managed to start getting through the evening better without so much fuss. He takes his am nap from 8:30 or 9am until about 10-11 am. The afternoon nap is from about 1-1:30pm until about 3-3:30pm or so. Then he goes to bed sometime between 7-8 usually.
