View Full Version : Here's how we shared our good news with our parents!
Attached is a pic that John sent to his parents & my parents by email. The really cool thing was that my mom didn't even see it by email. She was visiting this weekend, so we met her at the airport with Jake wearing this shirt. She saw it right away and dropped her bag and yelled, "Oh my God!" She was so excited! And I loved being able to share it with her in person this time around! Thanks for indulging a proud mama!

Very cute!!!
I, too, was able to tell my parents in person. I also had a big brother t-shirt for Lane and it was a riot! I still need to get a picture of him wearing it though.
ETA - I just realized he's holding the HPT in the picture. That's hysterical!! :)

And congratulations!

How cute!! I LOVE the shirt. It's the cutest I've seen. So now Brig's got to have one...where'd you get it?
Got it at BRU. They have several versions each of "Big Brother" "Little Brother" "Little Sister" "Big Sister". You'll find them all on the same rack. If you can't find one, I'd be more than happy to pick one up for you!

Very cute picture. We did the same thing with both sets of grandparents. We had our DD wear a shirt that said "Big Sister" on it and the funny thing is that it took several minutes before my mother saw it. When she did, both she and my dad screamed with delight. My FIL tends to be a bit oblivious to things like this, so he didn't see it at all and my MIL was a bit of a spoil sport about it. :( She saw the shirt and didn't even say a single word about it for almost a whole hour. We ended up having to bring it up, asking her if she saw the shirt. She then replied by saying that she did but didn't want to say anything in the event that it wasn't so. Huh? It's not like every kid in town wears a shirt with those words (i.e., GAP, Old Navy). Oh well.
Congratulations and best wishes!

Did I miss your announcement? Or is this it? Congratulations! :)
That is an adorable shirt! Where did you find it? It's so much cuter than any others I've seen.

ETA: I am quite clearly on crack. I just saw your announcement thread and I replied to it only a day or so ago. Jeez. I'm not even pregnant and I can't remember yesterday... CONGRATS again! ;)

What a fabulous and creative idea. You will certainly have a wonderful story to tell your new little one when he or she asks, "So how did you tell everyone that you were pregnant with me?"
Congrats,

Andrea,
That is hysterical. I was looking at Jake's picture thinking, "what kind of toy is that?" Having a blond moment, I then read the replies. So cute, and I am still laughing! :)

I don't think my mom would have known it was...I think in her day there were a bunch of dead rabbits to show pregnancy (she's much older than most new mommies moms)...
I love this!!! so glad you shared!

LOL Neve! My mom didn't know what the test was either, since I'm adopted and she's never seen one in her life! But we met her at the airport w/ Jake wearing the shirt, so she knew by the time she got home to get the pic by email. My MIL's big concern was why we let him have it for a minute and whether we were careful not to let him put it in his mouth.....Duh!
