What a week! Earlier in the week, I found out my Mom is going to see a specialist after an abnormal sonogram of her breast. She has a large something and the doctor is very concerned. (She has had problems in the past but never cancer). Now tonight, I had to take DH to the ER because he has, get this, a staph infection. Argh! I had to pluck my sleeping angel out of bed, and take him to a friend's house where he is now spending the night (since it is 4:20 am EST- gotta love ER waiting time!). Poor DH is a mess. And I am stressed, stressed, stressed!
Just thought I would share my pity party... :(
That sounds stressful. I hope your mother is fine and your DH feels better soon. Thinking of you!

Ugh, Melissa, what an awful week. Keep us updated on your mom's situation. That is scary. And what is going on with the staph infection? I don't know anything about that type of thing. It sounds really stressful down there. Sending ((hugs)).

Melissa,
You poor thing. I hope that things improve this week and that everyone gets better. How stressful for you.
What a double whammy. Hope your mother's sonogram turns out to be nothing to worry about. And hope DH gets better soon.

Melissa,
that sounds horible!! And I CRINGE when I hear "staph infection", as my DH had one when he was much younger and we think (we do not know for sure due to the incompetent doctors that were treating him at the time) that it brought back the juvenile rheumatoid arthritis he had had as a child. It's all in remission now, and the staph infection was just a *possible* trigger for an underlying condition, but still, I hate to hear the word for all that he has been through.
I hope today is better for you!

PS> do they know where he got the staph from??

Oh, no! Big hugs!! I'm so sorry to hear about both your Mom and your DH. You don't need this extra stress during Matthew's birthday week! I hope the specialist is able to give your Mom some positive answers and that your DH recovers quickly from his infection. Please let me know if you need anything.

I hope things clear up for your DH soon. Staph infections are so scary. And your mom too, goodness. Hang in there and I hope she comes through without anything serious.

Thank you everyone. DH is being a gigantic pain. I went to fill his prescription, pick up dinner and Matthew. Apparently I was hanging out too long at my friend's house because DH was frantically trying to get in touch with me. He is being such a PITA! This post really needs to be in the bitching post arena but oh well. I hate when he is sick because he acts like a big baby. I know he is worried and scared (his grandfather had a terrible staph infection that ate away at his skin- he was also paralyzed on the side the infection hit and was very ill & in a home at the time). I mean GEEZ! I took you to the hospital. They sent you home after an IV antibiotic drip. You will be ok!
Matthew was great and didn't want to leave my friend's house. Frankly, I didn't either. :( I haven't seen her in weeks (she has a very ill relative and went to spend some time with her before anything serious happens again) and I really needed to chat/relax/not worry for a bit. My thoughts are really on my Mom for several reasons (she will be here on Friday for Matthew's party and my house is a disaster!) and I am also stressed about Maggie's adoption.
Thanks for reading and being so supportive. Hugs to you all!
p.s. Eri, they don't know where the infection came from. They are thinking it orginated from a boil he has on his leg. The hair follicles probably got infected and there you go. DH has been very stressed at work (he is doing the job of 3) and hasn't been taking very good care of himself in regards to sleeping and eating...

Aww, Honey...Sorry about your PITA DH, but I do hope he feels better soon for both of your sakes. ;)
I'll be praying for your mom. That is so scary. Please do keep us updated on her status.
I haven't been over to the adoption forum in forever so you might have already posted this, but what's going on with Maggie's adoption?
HUGS!!!

Sorry to hear you're having such a rough time! I hope your PITA DH can relax a little and focus on healing rather than running you ragged. And I hope it's a false alarm for your mom. I can't imagine how scary this must be for all of you. (((HUGS)))
