View Full Version : You'll never believe who's at my house...
...my mom!
She showed up yesterday afternoon. I had an inkling she might come this week, and she has a key, so it wasn't a biggie. So, she was here on Payton's official birthday, and I let her keep him home today.
Not sure how long she's staying (not longer than Friday-- that'd start to cut into boat time ;)) but I'm glad she and Payton are spending time together. We'll have to work on my dad some other time.
And no, I haven't told. I'm waiting a little longer so that a lot of the crap is behind us first.

Heather,
I think your mom and maybe even your dad someday will come around and see how important their grandchild(ren) is (are). She's very lucky to have a daughter who will try to get past the sh!t, to forge ahead in the relationship. I do agree that holding off on telling her is a good idea for now. Hope you have a nice visit.

That's great. I hope this means she's figured out that even if Payton doesn't really "care" if she's there, you DO!
Yay! I'm glad she got her "stuff" together and got her rear over there! That was the right thing to do. And you tell her and your dad your big news when YOU feel the time is right.

Aww...that's great news! I'm glad your mom decided that both you and Payton were more important than that darn boat trip! I admire you for having the patience and persistence to teach your parents what they should already know--the importance of family!
And another Happy Birthday to Payton! Enjoy the next few days together!

Wow, it's great that she did make it there for his real b day. A nice guesture, IMO. It will provide a nice foundation for getting over the hurt she caused by not showing for the party.
I wish you the best of luck finding a happy place so that you can share this wonderful news!!! Let us know how it turns out.
