She's nowhere near Pakistan, which is in the northeast corner of India. She's in the middle of India, I believe, in Hyderabad.

Pakistan is in the northWEST of India. My parents, who live in New Delhi, felt the quake but were too far from the epicenter for any damage. Rashmi is in Hyderabad, which is technically in the south of India, and they felt nothing there. Most of the destruction, according to my parents, is confined on Pakistan, and the state of Jammu and Kashmir in India.

My geography skills are pretty darned weak, but my SIL told me that her DH's family in Lahore, Pakistan felt the quake but had no damage. I think they were pretty far away from the epicenter.
