OT: Need an idea for DH's friend's surprise 30th

We are going to a surprise 30th birthday party next weekend for DH's college roommate, at a really nice restaurant. I have no idea what to bring. We haven't seen him and his wife since their wedding 4 years ago, even though they live only 1.5 hours away, and I only met them 2-3 time anyways, so I feel clueless on what to get him.

Any suggestions on what to get a 30 year old guy who you don't know very well? :-) I'd like to spend about $30-40.

can you find an old goofy college picture of him and your DH and put it in a nice frame?

I asked DH to come up with something like that for a gag-type gift - like a goofy picture, or a movie they found funny back then. His response was that he'd "try to think of something" - which means that the day before the party he'll want us to go shopping, grr. I hate waiting until the last minute.
