Ok, mamas. A post in Feeding got me thinking.

I quit wearing underwire when I was nursing Payton. I've got non-nursing non-underwire bras I bought when I was still nursing him last summer.

I went to put on my old pre-pg underwire bras last weekend, figuring it'd at least open my bra wardrobe up a little without spending the cash on new ones. WOW, that underwire is uncomfortable now. Am I the only one this has happened to? Is it just my changed shape (sagginess ;)) or did I just get too used to the non-underwire version?

Totally not important in the grand scheme, I know, but on my mind today, anyway :)

I'd guess it's the change in shape. I've always worn non-underwire, both pre-pg and post. I've gone to Nordstrom, though, and found one excellent bra that is underwire, and it is far more comfortable than any other I've ever worn. The key was in getting one that fit perfectly — that is, not just the right size, but the wire is the right shape for my body. Your old bras probably aren't the right shape for you any more, even if they're still the right size.

Well, I have no idea the answer to your question, but I think, for me, it's that I'm too used to the non-underwire version. But it could also be your size, if you now need more support (as I do). :) I agree with PP on trying on new underwire bras to see if maybe you just prefer a different brand/style now. Although, I hate bra shopping! :P

"if you now need more support"

I wish!!! I'm thinking I'm equal to or less than my original size :(

I'm sure I'll give in the end and go shopping. It's not my favorite thing to shop for, either.
