I work for an accounting firm right now and since tax season is almost over(YAY!) i want to take a day off and go to the spa. There is a spa that i went to before called Burke Williams and it was so nice. I got a massage because i did not have time to get any other treatments that day. If you have been to a spa before which things did you think were "worth it" and was there anything that you thought was a waste? I am getting a really nice bonus in about a week and i really want a day of relaxation.
here is the web site if you want to see what other amenities they have at the spa:

Thanks so much

Right up my alley! :)
I looked at the website and they do offer one of my favorite treatments- a salt glow. They call it "Savannahs Surrender". They give you a salt scrub massage and then rinse you off with an overhead shower while you are still lying on the table (at least for the ones I have had). Then finish it with a lotion application. See if you can request a sunless tanning ltion instead of regular lotion since you will already be exfoliated.
Have fun and enjoy the day!

A mani/pedi and massage would do me very well.
Sounds fabulous. Enjoy your day. :)

I love massages w/hot stones. I really have found them to have a positive effect on my back and shoulder pains in times of stress. But if I were to pick a few things I would do a massage, a facial and a pedicure. If you have extra funds do a sea salt exfoliation because the deadskin stuff needs to go! ;-)

I JUST went to BW for the first time very recently. I liked the Spa-style Full session facial. It was really nice. I almost never do things like this so it was really luxurious.
I also did the bath, as well, but it was creepy. The room had two tubs and there was another person in the tub next to me.

I like Burke Williams, but I prefer Amadeus Spa in Pasadena (not sure which BW you are near). My favorite treatments are a 1 hour massage, a mani/pedi with paraffin treatments, and a deep cleansing facial. That's my idea of a great afternoon! :)

I am in Los Angeles, about 1 mile from Beverly Hills, i was planning on going to the Santa Monica spa, pasadena is pretty far away.
I have pretty sensitive skin, do you think an exfoliation would help that or make it worse? If you have had a facial before which would you reccomend that are offered at BW? I get manicures regularly for work so that would not really be a special treat IYKWIM? I could get one at the spa anyways.....
So i think i want a massage, exfoliation and facial..... any reccomendations from the list?
Thanks so much!

I love salt scrubs, call and ask them if it would be ok for sensitive skin. They should be truthful. As for baths, I get bored. :)

Ooh, I LOVE the BW in Sherman Oaks!!! I had many pregnancy massages there. Heavenly!!!
I loved their body wraps and their salt scrubs. I've had the spa style facial, but didn't love it. I think massages (at any spa) can be hit or miss based on the therpist you get, so when I found a good one for my pregnancy massages, I requested her over and over and over.
If you go, plan to stay a while! The other amenities are amazing! The steam room, the sauna, the whirlpool, all the fruit and yummy flavored water. And don't underestimate the quiet room. I've fallen asleep in there a few times. :)
Oh, how I miss BW!!! (I don't live in LA anymore)
