Mia has just consistently started rolling from her back to her belly...she get stuck there and screams. It is really affecting her nite time sleep......I go into her room to help her out but it is a struggle to get her to sleep. I can't just leave her on her belly right and let her cry? What did you do?

Oh, naps are not affected b/c she still sleeps in her swing....that's a thread for another day!

Sigh, we went through that w/both DC. It only lasted us about 2 weeks before they would just fall back asleep on their tummies.

Lots of nights of getting up, rolling them back, patting tummies to get them back to sleep and then only having to repeat it again 2 hours later.

It does stop, if that is any consolation???

This may not be typical, but this situation lasted with my DD for about 3 months. She figured out how to roll from back to front quite early - around 4 months, but then didn't figure out front to back until about 8.5 months (yikes - slow, I know!). Anyway, DD would roll over in her sleep and end up on her tummy and then wake up stuck there! I would just go in to her room and gently turn her over, give her her pacifier, and then leave. She would go right back to sleep every time. This only happened maybe 2 times per night and usually in the early part of her night-time sleep. Once she got into a good deep sleep she'd stay on her back. I finally clued her in to how to roll over on to her back by putting her on a nice soft blanket on the ground (or on the bed) and manually rolling her over - sort of pulling on her hip would cause her to roll over and she figured it out very quickly. Literally about 2 days of doing that manual rolling and she figured it out on her own! You could try that with your DD - she might just need the little extra help that my DD needed. Good luck! :)

>I can't just leave her on her belly right and let her cry?

Well, I did, but she was already crying when I put her on her belly. In her first few months, she would cry when she was on her belly anyway, so when I was at the end of my rope, I would put her on a blanket on the floor and let her cry. Less total crying overall (since she was crying anyway) and some very productive tummy time (because she would get mad). She cried herself to sleep like this more than once. This was all during the day, though.

So I recommend more daytime tummytime, crying or not!
