Board consolidation---more pruning (pin to 10-21-06)

Hi folks: As promised, we did a little pruning of the boards today.

We consolidated some of the less active BABY 411 boards---combining the infections and disease board, for example. Others have gone on holiday (the Baby 411 Lounge).

We have noticed some of the activity has picked up on 411 boards in recent days, so we are reluctant to trim any more.

We realize some of the boards overlap--but we hope to having separate boards for the 411 topics like sleep make sense, since the Baby 411 book and boards focus more on medical issues, while the BABY BARGAINS book and boards are more about gear.

For now, we will keep the toddler boards separate as their own forum.

So, we'll look at this again in another month and see how it goes!

Thanks for the consolidation. What about the Feeding Baby and then the two Baby 411 Nutrition Boards (Solids & Liquids)? Can we combine all those into just the Feeding Baby board? There seems to be alot of redundancy there.

I would have to agree. Even though there's a lot of information to be shared in each, the Baby Bargains board has been reaonably high-traffic and handling both for quite some time. There's also a lot of overlap, besides that keeping people around to read about solids when they can help to answer newborn questions about liquids is another nice benefit!

I agree. The most experienced parents can help a lot with early feeding questions. No need for 3 feeding forums.

Frankly, I don't see why the bulk of the 411 forums could not be 1 health related forum.

I just wanna pipe in one more time how frustrating it is to post on the Toddler boards. It seems that no one really hangs there, so I end up not getting any play and come right back to the Lounge or Butts or the other boards here. Can we have incentives to hang there, like pay us money? Ok, I'm kidding on that last one.
