daylight savings has really wrecked havoc on my 14 month old ds's sleep schedule. he regularly sleeps 11-12 hours/night with one 2-3 hour nap each day, but since daylight savings it has gone from about 8p - 8a, which we loved because dh had time to spend with him in the evenings, and i got to sleep in. since daylight savings (and now with the help of a thanksgiving trip to the ne, he is getting up at 5:30am and exhausted by 6:30. the schedule sucks, but i can't figure out how to alter it. i know that if i leave him up later, he just gets up earlier. can anyone please offer suggestions?

This is what I did to get my DS back on a better sleep schedule after DST ended: I left him in the crib in the morning until it was a "better" wake up time. For example, when he was waking up at 5:00 am, I left him in the crib until around 5:30 or 5:45. (I couldn't stomach having him be upset any longer than that.) Each morning, he seemed to sleep about 20 minutes later than the morning before. And each morning when I go in to get him, I give him the option of getting back in the bed and snuggling with me, hoping that he'll go back to sleep. Sometimes he does. Took around 3 days, but everything was back to normal. I kept his bedtime constant, though it looks like you want to move your bedtime to later. Hmmm. I think your son needs a sleep "reboot!" :)

Could you just pretend that 8PM is still the same 8PM it was a few weeks ago? Ignore any time changes that have taken place? Like when we go on vacation, once the clock says "7:30" it's bedtime, no matter what time zone we're in.

Boy, I feel like I'm rambling. Hope some of this made sense!
