View Full Version : Pretend fire hose for Halloween costume??
DS is going to be a fireman for Halloween and he wants a pretend fire hose. I have the flat fabric one that came with the costume but I wonder if anyone has a great idea to make a real looking one. He's going to bring it to school so it can't be potentially used as a weapon (garden hose as DH originally suggested).
I was thinking pool noodle but they are too big. I can just imagine DS conking kids on the head during the parade.
I like the pool noodle idea. We have a few at home that DH cut to shorter lengths that DS uses as "hockey sticks" (everything is a hockey stick to him, even his toy golf club). Do you mean it is too round for his hands to hold?
We thought DS was going to be a fireman but he changed his mind over a month ago to be a garbage man. We were going to have him carry a waterpail as his trick-or-treat bag. Now, he gets to carry a garbage bag.

Could you buy some cheap, black thigh highs and stuff them with something?

My son is going to be a fireman too and he is adamant that
he must have a fire hose.
I was thinking about cutting down a pool hose. Our house's
previous owners left a bunch of pool stuff so I could cut
off a portion of the hose for him.

Real fire hoses are flat except when water is going through them. And at that point nobody is carrying them around. I think the flat one is as real looking as you're going to get...

Jude was this 2 years ago, and loved the flat one that same with the costume. For him it was all about the sound effects. hahaha
