View Full Version : Embarrasing - but I think I must be snapping the FB wrong

So today was our first cloth day (except overnight - still using Huggies until I figure out what will hold her). It went pretty well except that I was a little shocked at how quickly she was soaking these things and how wet they were after 1.5 hours. She even leaked out of the Angelwraps Quickdry AIO after 30 or 40 minutes (around one of the legs where it is fleece). Highest marks go to the babyblanket pocket stuffed with a JB and microfiber towel, but the happy heiny and the sugarpeas worked okay too (though the sugar peas were really wet and heavy after use even with the snap in soaker).

But, the biggest issue is that I'm pretty sure I'm snapping the FB wrong. I bought a large and it is definitely roomy on her but I did it on what I think is the tightest setting. I snapped the furthest in on the bottom row of snaps on each side and then did so on the top (and it kind of crosses over the midline) on one side but then to do it on the other side I needed to pull down the wing of the first side to get to the snap. It worked but it was funny looking in the front and added extra bulk. I've got to believe I'm missing something. Can any FB users enlighten me????

Thanks!

Sounds like the FBs are too big if you need to cross over the tabs at the waist...they aren't intended to be able to cross over. I would try a medium FB.

We are in a similar boat - the large FBs are weird because if you use the smallest leg snap, the waist doesn't snap right (it really needs crossover snaps on the flaps). But mediums are too small for us, and petite toddlers don't have enough room to grow. So I think that what you are doing makes sense (as long as you have no leaks)!

Sarah wore petite toddlers for a looonnnggggg time before finally growing into the large FBs. Like at least a year!
