I have to spread the word! This is the worst diaper pail ever! Here's why:
1) It is not one-hand operational like it claims. When you try to pull the handle up to put the diaper in, the whole diaper pail lifts off the floor, so you have to use your other hand or foot or whatever is available to push down on the pail while you pull up on the handle, or lift up the entire pail with the handle and shake it to get the handle to raise up. This is such a pain, especially when you have a squirmy baby on the changing table.
2) Yes, you have to stick your hand in up to your elbow to push the dirty diaper into the holding area. That's just gross!
3) You have to buy the bags like the Genie, but I find the pail wastes a lot of the bag when you push the diaper through, so you end up using a lot of refills- expensive!
I bought this when it first came out on the market (around last Oct)thinking it must be the latest and greatest, but it's not, not, not!
I now have a Diaper Champ and it's great! No problems or hassles since! (p.s. if anyone wants my Neat, it is sitting in my garage just collecting dust. :)
