Hi Mommies!

I'm posting here, because I think it fits best here (vs. the Lounge). DS & I have the opportunity to do a BF'ing photo shoot on Wednesday, and I'm starting to get cold feet. The company I work for makes baby products, and this is the 2nd year they've taken pictures of employees & their babies. Our building is decorated with gorgeous shots of babies & toddlers (and their parents), and the photos themselves are now in a repository for marketing to use them. Kinda cool.

So, when they had a 'casting call' this summer for more parents & babies, DS & I signed up. During the interview they said they wanted some BF'ing shots, and I said 'sure'. The more I think about it now, the more conflicted I get-- especially since I'm a blanket girl when I NIP :)

Overall I think it's a great idea, and goes along with the my thoughts of encouraging BF'ing as natural and normal. I just need to get over my prudeness, I think... That's why I'm asking for encouragement-- TIA if you have any to offer!

Wow Heather, that sounds really neat. You get professional portraits and you get to promote the idea that breastfeeding is a normal thing to do. I can understand your nervousness, but I bet when you guys get in there and DS starts to nurse you will be focused on him and you will get some great pics. Let me know how it goes!

You go girl! Nothing to be ashamed off at all, but I do understand your hesitation. Perhaps they could reassure you that your modesty would be protected? They would be looking for a tasteful shot after all, and these are your co-workers. Talk to the photographer at the shoot, and if you are not entirely comfortable, then bow out. I am sure they would understand. You are very brave to step outside of your comfort zone on this one. Have fun!:7

I would DEFINITELY do this! Kayla recently weaned, and it was very hard on me...still is, but it's getting better. I knew it was a matter of days before we had our last session and I was feeling like I needed to have pictures. I'm so thankful I did this, DH took them...not professional, which in hindsight I wish I had done...but the ones we have are beautiful. So go for it! If it's a professional company w/ a professional photographer, I'm sure it will be discreet and lovely.

Heather I think this is fabulous!!! I think since it's a bf photo shoot, they will be totally professional and discreet. I think this is fantastic and I would be nervous too, but I think you will be so happy in the end that you did it.

I know the pics will be a wonderful memory for you. :)

Heather:

Go for it!!! I had shots of me nursing DD. I was really hesitant, but they are beautiful. I was very suprised to see the beauty of the picture. DD looks so content. While you can see my breast, it's no more boob than if I was wearing a low cut bikini.

I think that after its done you'll be really please and if you decided not to do it you'll have regrets.

I talked with the photographer today. We're still on for the shoot, but our primary 'scene' is going to be Baby Yoga. I'm now the backup for the BF'ing scene because there is another mommy whose baby is too young for the Baby Yoga, but could do the BF'ing scene. I happened to talk to that mommy this morning, and I'd say there's a 50/50 chance we'll get called in for the BF'ing scene based on how she was feeling about doing it. I'll let you know if we do end up doing it-- I appreciate all the encouragement you've shared, and I think we'll step up if asked.

On a side note, if we don't do the BF'ing scene for this shoot, you all may have seriously convinced me to go get shots done on our own!
