Hi all.

We are getting ready for when my leave is up in a couple of weeks and I'm trying to figure out the best way to label all of the items that we have to take. I have some ideas for the clothes, but what about bottles?

Sharpie? Masking tape? We use Avent if that makes any difference. I would love to put his name on there permanently, but then we still need something that comes off easily to put the date.

Thanks. Amy

We did name in Sharpie and date with masking tape. Our daycare was a little lax on the date thing (name too, really) because there were only 3 babies and they all used different bottles and we all brought in bottles daily.

I LOVE the Brother P-Touch Labeler with the laminated tape. Totally stays on through many, many washings. I haven't had to replace any.
Tip: I got mine from Ebay for half the price of new!

I had the same question as you a few weeks ago. I bought my labels at containerstore.com. It was a suggestion given to me by indigo on this site! They are labels called LabelOnce and I love them. They come with a sharpie and eraser. The labels have stayed on just fine and each time I erase the old date and amount and write the new one on there. It's so easy. I wanted something that didnt look to messy, since I also had to buy labels to put DD's name on the bottle, the top and the lid. I got those labels at stuckonyou.biz. HTH!

Thanks everyone. Due to my engineering background I'm a bit anal so I love the idea of the labelmaker, the LabelOnce and Stuckonyou stuff.

Did you use the LabelOnce on clothes or for dating the bottles? As for the Stuckonyou stuff can you let me know which ones you ordered and if they have stayed on through the dishwasher? I had looked at them earlier today and thought they wer quite cool!

I got wax pencils at Michaels. You know -- the kind that have that natural colored wrappy thing that you have to unravel to get more "lead". I have been using the same two for over a year and they are still almost new in length. The sharpie is good for writing the name, but the wax pencil is great for the date (just make sure to put it on before you put the bottle in the fridge -- it doesn't work as well when the bottles are closed). BTW, I have heard that mr. clean's magic eraser will get the sharpie out when you are ready to get rid of your bottles.

Good luck!

I got a clothing labeler here.... http://www.namedropperstamper.com/

I got DD's last name on it (not a common last name) so the clothes could be used for any future kiddos (and cousins!).
So easy and I love how neat it looks. The font is kinda boring though!

Our day care has a label maker and wax pencils. They put labels on all of ds's bottles and pacifiers, and use the wax pencils to date the bottles when I bring them in the mornings. So...the only thing I have to label are his clothes. I would ask the day care if that's something YOU have to do, or if they do it there.
