YEAH!!! Mia's first solids

Just wanted to share my good news. Mia is 5 1/2 mo and was soo interested in our food that last Saturday she reached for my calamari! :) Right then and there, DH and I decided that she was probably ready to try rice cereal.

WOW - she was so ready. On my first attempt, she opened wide and swallowed. No ifs, ands, or buts! Every subsequent spoonful made it into her mouth with smiles. She even GRABBED THE SPOON and put it correctly in her mouth.

I was nearly in tears at this milestone. I'm not ready for my baby to grow up so quickly! But, she did great!!!

Congrats!

We just started solids this weekend w/ our DD as well and it was just like your experience.

Even DH was shocked that it was time for her to start solids already.

I have to confess though that I'm not looking forward to dealing w/ baby food again.

Congrats! How exciting! My dd was born two days after yours, and I'll be starting solids tomorrow. I know what you mean about not wanting your baby to grow up so quickly. I'm sad that she has a whole box full of clothes that don't fit her anymore, but I'm looking forward to her "big girl" milestones. :-)
