I'm sure some of the smart mamas on this board have already thought of this and I wish I had thought of it weeks ago...

DS started refusing anything WE tried to feed him, he just wanted to feed himself. So we have quite a few jars of baby food left. The other day I was trying to figure out something to spread on bread (pb was out of course, I thought about fruit spread, but didn't have any), I suddenly remembered the many many jars of baby food and tried that and voila! It'll take forever, but at least he'll eat some of it.

That being said, he's been refusing food from our spoon forever, but my SIL was babysitting him over the weekend. She was trying to feed him applesauce and he, of course, was refusing. She runs a daycare and told him that she's had many many kids and many who were toughter than him. I guess she kept at it more than I do. Eventually he took a bite and realized he really liked it and opened up for her to feed him more. He even did pretty well when he took the spoon and fed himself. So I gave him one spoon and he kept opening up for me to feed him with the other. I was shocked since it's literally been weeks, maybe months, since he let me do that.

So, you might want to try again. I didn't even think DS liked applesauce (he actually kept refusing it even back when he ate jarred food!). But I guess his tastes changed.

I never thought of it. It's a great idea!
