DS #1 is 2 yrs and 4 months. At his 2 yr checkup he was 29lbs, 34 inches. Currently he's in a Marathon and the straps are at the second to top slot. We just changed them to this position.

DS #2 is almost 7 months and at his last checkup he was 19lbs, 28inches and he's in a Snug Ride carseat.

How much longer will my older son be able to ride in the Marathon? Should we move him up to a Regent now, or wait until he outgrows the Marathon?

Should I buy another Marathon for the baby, or give him the older carseat if we buy the Regent?

Just trying to stretch the most out of these carseats both money wise and time wise taking the expiration dates into account.

Does it make sense to get a Regent now, or wait a few years??

Thanks.

I'd get another Marathon. The Regent really isn't that comfortable for such little kiddos and it's a lot harder to install, and your 2 yo probably has a good 3 years left in it (or more) (their torsos slow down and their legs start growing at this age, in general... what looks like only a couple inches of harness room can really take years... :) )
